Anyone know any good places to release books when on vacation and staying in a hotel? We are going to aquarium, coca cola museum and Sweet Water Brewery in Atlanta Georgia. This hotel is huge and can't place my finger on where to leave one here.bSince housekeeping does clean up all the time it's hard. Not like when we go to our BC conventions.

I left some books in various hotel lobbies and in a couple of restaurants while I was on vacation in March. None of the books have been journaled & I'm not sure whether they got tossed into the trash or what.

One thing you might do is look for any OBCZ locations near where you are traveling and try to drop off a book at one of those. Also, just do a book search for the major cities and see if there have been other books left at any of those tourist locations like zoos or museums.

Possibly near the computers, if they have computers available for guest use at the hotel. Of if they have a seating area in the lobby with couches/chairs and table leave one on the table?

Last con we went to I left books on chairs in the lobby of the hotel, it was near an atm. I've left books on benches in the viewing gallaries of the local aquarium, on top of paper towel dispensers in bathrooms...

We often stay at Bed & Breakfastes when we travel and they usually have a library. I leave books there sometimes.

In general I have found that hotels do not yield many catches - the one catch I had was by a cleaning person.

I do find it amusing to leave books in elevators in hotels though - cleaning people are in those less than you think!

I think DragonGoddess sometimes leaves them in the drawer where you often find the Bibles, not sure if the cleaning crew checks in there!

I left a book there once. Never got a hit though.

My daughter is a supervisor for housekeeping as well as front desk. She did say one time more than likely housekeepers will throw books out. Unless they want it. Now that she's been working in the field for awhile I'll ask her again. She just went on vacation with her boyfriend and forgot my book that she was going to release. :headwall: Guess i'll have to find another place. Maybe at the hairdressers
