Happy Thanksgiving all. Yes, I know the Canadians celebrated a month ago and there may not be any tradition of Thanksgiving in all the countries where our members live. But I'm generous ... I'll share our holiday with the rest of the world. Thanksgiving is all about being thankful for the blessings in our lives -- big or small. So I'll invite you guys to share the things you're thankful for: * My husband. Mr. Elsi suffered a massive stroke on 22 November 1994, so I'm thankful that he survived with his mind intact and that I've had these 15 years with him. * My kids. All have grown into mature adults. The boys are starting their own families with babies due in 2010. The girl is teaching school & entering graduate school. * Books. I have so many interests and bounce from one hobby to another, but reading is the one passion that I can sustain no matter what. * My book buddies -- here at BookObsessed and elsewhere. And I'm thankful that we have the material things that we need. I'm so aware that there are many who are struggling to stay warm or even to keep food on the table, more so this year than in the past. So we'll say a prayer of thanks for our blessings and make our plans to support local activities that provide help to those in need. Happy Thanksgiving all. |

I put several of mine in my sig already - I have a fabulous job, even if I've been grousing lately, and having minor troubles there - Mr P - and, as I posted on Facebook, November may be dark and dreary but praises be that candles exist! |

Happy Turkey Day everyone! I am thankful that my three kids and me are healthy, that I can manage to feed and clothe my kids, and keep them safe and warm. I'm thankful we have a roof over our heads, though I don't know for how much longer... I hope everyone else is safe and warm and has lots of good eats to eat! Amy |

Well at least you have your priorities Giz! I'm a little late, but I'll add to anyway... thankful that no family member had to spend Thanksgiving in the hospital this year (seems like big stuff always happens around this time), that I'm still employed and for Mr. Shaunie, who helps me keep my sanity and lets me buy books whenever I want. He only wishes that I would reciprocate with computer parts. And also for everything else too numerous to mention! Edited by shaunesay, Nov 30 2009, 05:02 PM.
