Gosh it was so hard for me to compose everything. I was so tired. I was yesterday on job interview. It's an US firm (from Chicago) that opens a "call office" here. meaning they will not work here but only accept calls from and to US and reservations for what they are doing which is mostly transport (people, goods, etc) nationwide. They asked me "How's your English?" and I said "Fine I guess" and they gave me a phone and said confirm pick up reservation for this man; this is his address, this is airport where he suppose to catch the flight and here is his travel-plan. The funny thing is that guy who accepted my call was more confused than me! he managed to say "umm ... all confirmed!" I guess he understood what I was telling with my British English

I thought this turquoise will look OK because of the typing machine but I guess it might be problematic for other theme.

An Open Swimmer by Tim Winton Winton, one of Autralia's most acclaimed novelists, won the Australian/Vogel prize with this,his first novel, in 1981. He first wrote this book during a creative writing course at Curtin University in Western Australia. This novel already demonstrates Winton's poetic, economical style of writing - it's character driven rather than moved forward by the plot - and is remarkably assured for a work by a 19 year old! I loved this novel, and gave it a 9/10 - a rarity for a 'book snob' like me! Book Description Jerra and his best mate Sean set off in a beaten-up old VW to go camping on the coast. Jerra's friends and family want to know when he will finish university, when he will find a girl. But they don't understand about Sean's mother, Jewel, or the bush or the fish with the pearl. They think he needs a job, but what Jerra is searching for is more elusive. Only the sea, and perhaps the old man who lives in a shack beside it, can help. An Open Swimmer is a remarkable first novel by one of Australia's most loved and respected writers.

I thought I had done something squirly on the first one I sent you - and had forgotten to copy it so I just rewrote it as I roughly remembered it! My PC has died and I'm wrestling with the work laptop. Thank the Lord I had access to it though - otherwise this Swap would have been a disaster for me! As for Cloudstreet... I happen to think it's Winton's masterpiece (though I have 'Breath' on TBR and may change my mind). I don't give a book a 9 or 10 lightly... has to be damn outstanding in my mind to earn an 'A' from this ex-literature teacher! Don't let the size of 'Cloudstreet' put you off.. it's not a scary read at all.. I promise Edited by lmn60, Oct 30 2009, 09:01 AM.

Tomorrow morning she'll give deposit (is that the word?). And tomorrow I'll spend an entire day at Book Fair!!! Oh and logo, I modified pic I've found.
