I've already received a parcel from catsalive, which I'm trying to pretend I've forgotten about. And leeny37 had sent me a parcel, but unfortunately it went to my old address. Australia Post only forwards letters not packages, (great service). I've been back to the old address to check, as the people who had taken over the house from us had stockpiled my books until someone had provided a phone number on their return to sender details. Those people contacted her, who then contacted me, and I was able to collect the packages. But those kind people have now left, and the new owners claimed to know nothing about the package. Sorry, that was very long-winded.

___________________________________________________________

And now it is October, and I begin opening my packages! :bananadance:

catsalive – The Flight of the Maidens by Jane Gardam and Journey of a Lifetime and Other Stories– Thank you!
sally906 – I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith – Thank you!
supertalya – Angel's Flight by Michael Connelly AND The Year of the Fog by Michelle Richmond – Thank you
jubby – One Good Turn by Kate Atkinson – Thank you!
amberC – Sacred Country by Rose Tremain – Thank you!
DeeKay57 –
VeganMedusa – The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion – Thank you
jennymidget – The Game of the Goose by Ursula Dubosarsky – Thank you!
crimson-tide – The Heather Blazing by Colm Toibin – Thank you!
leeny37 – Sent to old address, I tried to retrieve, but all attempts have failed. Thank you anyway. In its place I now have Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters. Tx, VM
lmn60 – Shakespeare: The World as a Stage by Bill Bryson – Thank you!

I am really sorry to hear this. Unfortunately, I didn't know that you changed your address until it was too late. :( These were the books that I sent to you:

Michael Dobbs - House of Cards
Michael Dobbs - The Final Cut

It's a real shame as I got them sent from overseas through BookMooch. I can only hope they will turn up somehow. This was the tracking #: MV0447004 - maybe if you give that to Aussie Post, it may get you somewhere? Once again, I'm sorry the books didn't get to you. :(

Good evening all,

As I am soon to be very homeless and could even be overseas I have sent off all my books for all the outstanding recipents. I have had a great time receiving and finding books for everyone. :bananadance:

Hope to see you next year and all the best.

I'm really sorry livre and leeny, for the mess. Hopefully they might still be passed on to you. Or get returned to the bookmoocher - I've had parcels returned to me from Australia, when I've had the address wrong, but it took about 3 months. You never know. I should have been a bit more organized. :whip:
But in the meantime, I've organized a replacement book for you from the book depository - I couldn't get the same two that leeny had got you, but I think you'll be happy with the replacement. :D

I'll keep trying to track down the books you sent me, Eileen. They were two I'd been looking for ages! Good luck, deekay, where ever you end up, I hope you didn't use my old address, too. And thanks, Vegan, we'll hope for the best. I find as much fun is in the giving as in the receiving.

I had mooched them and got them sent to me first as I mooched them quite a while ago. I sent them via Express Post to livrecache - I'll keep an eye out to see if the books get returned to me. In the meantime, I'll keep an eye out on BookMooch to see if I can find any other books for you, livrecache!

Vegan, it's okay. i think it's the universe sending me a sign that I should never attempt to be organised again! LOL. If only I had sent them out late like every other time!

Thank you, catsalive for The Flight of the Maidens. The first page grabbed me, which is always a good sign. And thank you too for Journey of a Lifetime and Other Stories. It's always good to have short stories to read in those odd moments when you just want something quick and self-contained to read.

I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith is a book I've been wanting to read for some time – since the film came out, I think. Thanks, Sally.

Ursula Dubosarsky is a prolific writer for children and young adults, both genres that interest me. Thank you, Jenny, for The Game of the Goose.

Thanks so much, Amber, for Sacred Country. Tremain is one of my favourite authors.

(I can't seem to get the hang of uploading images, so I've desisted.)

Thanks Supertalya, a book by Michael Connelly is just the kind of book I'm in the mood for reading right now

I just have to finish reading The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.
