I now have three books that have been sent to me and not arrived. One I got an empty envelope (from Teachie), and the other two appa says were sent in the same envelope as two books that did arrive. So now when I go to the mailed tab to see what's en route to me, these books are showing up... and I can't mark them received because they're not.

How should we handle this? I don't really like having them hanging out there, though I guess that's probably the easiest thing.

I think we've marked them received in the past and put a note in there saying they were lost.

I thought we put the note in saying they appeared lost but left them there until the person got a replacement somehow.... we should probably discuss this and make sure our handling is consistent. I do know that some of the books replaced through the Pay It Forward thread were left owing/mailed until someone replaced them and then the updated info was put into the database showing someone else sent and a new link.....

I do think it's best that we leave them a fair amount of time as "Mailed" - books sometimes do show up - we don't want to mark them received too quickly......

In Pepper's case, I think it's save to say they are lost if they weren't in the envelopes though. I'm half with it today. So don't mind what I say. ;)

:giggle: I missed the part about the same envelope - but maybe appa's not sure - I'm also missing 2 books she mailed me the same day and she pm'd to say she was trying to check into both Pepper's and mine.....

Yeah, I'm wondering if Appa wasn't half-asleep when she packaged up the books, as I don't recall the envelope being torn up at all.

The book from Teachie, however, I KNOW is lost, as I got an envelope and no book. :(

Let's get those definitely lost ones into the Pay It Forward thread for sure. That's exactly the reason for which it was created. (Well, that and for people gone missing.)
