Pink is the new Pink \o/ Posts: 5,863 Group: Members Member #220 Joined: January 30, 2007	I didn't buy a book but a couple of weeks ago I asked my library if they'd be willing to buy Kim Harrison's Black Magic Sanction. Yesterday afternoon I got a phone call saying that they did buy it and would I like to be the first to read it. Well, I picked it up a couple of hours ago and will start it tonight

I had to eat one right away but am saving the other) and some Chocolate Coffee! Thank you, thank you, thank you! You do know how to spoil a girl!

I thought I should take a look, you know, maybe there might be something I will like and I was surpirised! Jayne Castle has re-issued Zinnia! Yay for me, it's only been about 5 years I'm trying to find it because I have the other books in the series and I wanted this one... I didn't want to buy it on e-bay and well, now I have a copy all my own!!!

Rianonne sent me *an ice cold grave* by Charlaine Harris and *Magic to the Bone* by Devon Monk. Both are books I selected from the Paranormal VBB and I'm thrilled to receive them.

She sent 9 swap books and 3 RABCK books. Her box contained the first five books in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time saga: *The Eye of the World, The Great Hunt, The Dragon Reborn, The Shadow Rising, and The Fires of Heaven. I had selected the first two books from the SFF VBB at BookObsessed and she threw in the next three �just because�. Next was the second book in Kim Harrison's paranormal series starring Rachel Morgan: The Good, the Bad, and the Undead, also selected from the SFF VBB. The rest of the box contained six books I had picked from the Teen VBB at BookObsessed: The Ice Dragon* by George R R Martin, *The Language of Goldfish* by Zibby Oneal, *The Penderwicks* by Jeanne Birdsall, *Dragonhaven* by Robin McKinley, *The Thief Lord* by Cornelia Funke, and *Peter and the Shadow Thieves* by Dave Barry & Ridley Pearson. Also received last week was a small box from Loveamystery, a BookCrosser, but not one who plays over here. She sent me *Defending Angels* by Mary Stanton, which I had selected from the 1st Page VBB that is being run over at BookCrossing. So, she included two RABCK books in the same envelope. First was *Angel's Advocate, the sequel to Defending Angels* and the second was *Revenge of the Barbeque Queens* by Lou Jane Temple. Friday morning, my hubby brought one more package in from the Post Office. This one was from MaplesFlowers and was sent to me for the Paranormal Devils Exchange Group. MaplesFlowers sent me *Fanged & Fabulous, second in Michelle Rowen's �Immortality Bites� series. So then, this* morning, another package arrived, this time from Kanaye44. She sent me *The Pillars of the World* by Anne Bishop which I had selected from the SFF VBB. In the same package was *The Hob's Bargain* which I won in the Fantasy Swap in February. I'm packing for a 3 week trip, part of which will be by car, so I'm able to take a BOX of books with me to make sure I have plenty to choose from. You can bet that some of these are likely to go along with me!

Mama to big boy Makaio and baby Mei! Posts: 3,546 Group: Members Member #15 Joined: December 23, 2005	OK, it was day 1 of the Friends of the Library annual book sale (the big one), and I couldn't resist going down. It was crawling with people! I had Mei strapped on my back and Makaio in the stroller, so my time was cut shorter than it would have been if I had been alone. I tried to restrain myself as this is the beginning of the sale and I already have a giant Mt TBR. Friday is the bag sale day. I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep myself away from that. I've been so good about not buying new books lately, but... Anyhow, here is my haul from the booksale: Children's picture books: You Were Loved Before You Were Born by Eve Bunting and Karen Barbour My Mei Mei by Ed Young Grown-up books: Fair Shares for All: A Memoir of Family and Food by John Haney On a Hoof and a Prayer: Exploring Argentina at a Gallop by Polly Evans Shop Till You Drop: A Dead End Job Mystery by Elaine Viets From Here You Can't See Paris: Seasons of a French Village and Its Restaurant by Michael S. Sanders Every Patient Tells a Story: Medical Mysteries and the Art of Diagnosis by Lisa Sanders, MD (technical advisor to House, MD) Body of Work: Meditations on Mortality from the Human Anatomy Lab by Christine Montross Dishwasher: One Man's Quest to Wash Dishes in All Fifty States by Pete Jordan The Unheard: A Memoir of Deafness and Africa by Josh Swiller Also, it was interesting to see people scanning the barcodes of books with their phones to see the price they are selling for online!

A colleague who lives near Denver is attending the workshop and she brought a book for me -- *Twenties Girl* by Sophie Kinsella. Yay! Chick-lit with a ghost in tow.
