I want to rant a little. I have a book that I want from PBS.com. In my requestor conditions it says that a customs form has to be filled out because I live overseas with the US military (you can do this online with online postage). I have had two people say that "They can't bother with filling one out" and then when I try to have the book sent to my parents, so they can send it to me--PBS says that I can't get it because the book doesn't meet my conditions! They both have the only copy available, it is just sitting there.

Is it possible for you to change your conditions, order the book, and then put the conditions back on? Only thing I can think of.

What book is it, supertalya? :)

I tried changing the conditions. Weird huh? I was able to find one of them on bookmooch--thank goodness. The other one is Mrs. Vargas and the Dead Naturalist by Kathleen Alcala

If anyone wants to sell PBS credits, let me know...

I basically only buy credits to get books that I or my husband want and hardly ever send any books out. I usually buy them from PBS directly, but I'd be happy to give the money to a BOer instead.

Hi everyone!

http://candieb.paperbackswap.com

I've just done a big clean of my bookshelves... 1 credit for 3 or 4 books for my BO friends :) PM me there since the PM system here is all screwy.

I just joined PBS about a month ago [same name: SimplyCee] and I got a request for a book. Yay! My question to you guys is should I use BookMooch instead? For the most part, I'm only listing books that I've tried using here at BO but no one seemed interested in.

Suggestions? Thoughts?

They're both very different and IMO complement each other well. (PBS v. BM) I actually like PaperBackSwap better but I know others feel the opposite. Since I tend to run out of credits more quickly on PBS, I'll generally offer something there first, and then put it on BM too only if it isn't on any wishlists out on PBS. But otherwise, go ahead and list them both places. Just remember to remove it from the other when it's requested. :)

I just added 33 books to my shelf over there. I have a load I'm going to take to the Friends of the Library also that aren't in good enough shape for PBS or BookMooch.

I was about to post a book on PBS when I read this, which is different than it used to be:

"I promise to follow the Golden Book Rule: My books have front and back covers, all pages, no liquid damage, no writing or highlighting, are not Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs), an...d my books are in generally good condition."

- does that mean we can't use bookcrossing labeled books on PBS anymore? Has anyone had trouble?

Is there anyone who would swap me one PBS credit for a BookMooch credit? One of my wishlist books is available at PBS, but I have no credits there, while I have 15 credits at BookMooch!
