Title: USA Only - List of every bookstore in your state
Description: I had to share this !!
redhot-brat - March 22, 2007 03:31 AM (GMT)
Well I was surfing around the web tonight looking for good bookstores near Duluth,Mn since I'll be spending most of my springbreak there. I came across this link that will give you a HUGE list of basically every bookstore (used & new) for your state. There were 4 PAGES for Minnesota alone. (printed out = 20 pages)
If you click on the link and scroll to the bottom & then just click on your state ... there it is ... your alphabetical list of bookstores statewide. You can also just read the main list , but it has ALL the stores the entire USA wide and in no particular order .... so it's a little chaotic.
Anyway ... here's the link for anyone else that wants to go on a statewide hunt for fun bookstores. :bananadance: There's 213 pages worth.

That is really cool! I found a couple within an hour driving distance from me that I didn't know about. Thanks for sharing this.

Your Welcome. Now I just gotta hope my hubby don't find the list I printed  I'm not sure if he'll freak or just cry at what damage I can do to our cashflow armed with such an extensive list. I am sooooo going shopping over springbreak. :bananadance:

Hmmm... I wonder if someone keeps it up to date. They don't have the Borders they built in Burlington a couple years ago. And The PaperBack Exchange listed in Burlington is no longer there and has moved to Billerica.
Still, a fairly useful resource, even if it's a tad bit out of date for my part of Mass. (which had 6 pages BTW)
Thanks brat!
ETA - Oh, and I figured I'd leave this here to allow time for everyone to see it, but then move it over to a more permanent home in the
Places to Buy/Trade Books sub-forum. :)

I would call or check out any place on the internet before trusting that site.
It's telling me that there's a B&N right by me... and trust me, I KNOW where all the B&Ns are around here.
When I did a reverse lookup of the phone number, I got Sweeny, Cartwright & Co. on a completely different street.
The address is the Hyde Park shopping center... which has lots of stores - Biggs, Krogers, Michaels, JoAnns fabrics, Bruegers, Pannera, etc... but no B&N.

Actually, they're still listing a lot of Buck-A-Book locations too, but they all closed down back in 2005:
Buck-a-Book in LiquidationSo I guess I can just advise everyone to make use of the phone and call them first before going hunting for stores which may not longer be there! :shedevil:

yeah I been reading my list and it's slightly out of date as to new/closed stores also , but it's still a great list to start from. I figure I'll call any of them before driving to locate them as even the closest to me is atleast 30 mins away.
I'll just cross off old ones and add new ones as I go. I figure everyone else will likely do much the same with their state lists. I just got so excited at such a huge list of stores to check out ... I shared before I double checked.

I have no money and a goal of reducing Mount TBR this year.
The two actually work quite well together.
However, if you want any of my AVL or TBR books, you don't have to send me one in trade. Just let me know which one(s) and I'll mail it(them) to you... eventually.

LMAO ... Yeah I know how that is. It works wonders on keeping my "collection" down too.
I might have to peek at yourshelf one of these afternoons.Honestly I shouldn't, it's not like I need anymore TBR either. I'm sure I'll do it anyway. Feel free to do the same with mine.
All in All I'm surprised at what a good dent I've made in my "mountain" so far this year. With hubby gone 5 days a week (working 3 hrs away  ) I've had nothing else to do with my evenngs ,but chat here and read - read - read.
Been seriously burning through my stacks and I still got 7 shelves and 6 boxes to go .... and everytime I turn around ... I'm bringing home more. I've concluded I'm throughly addicted for life. :duh:

The UBS that's really expensive was listed, and I only knew of one store that is closed now..(I never realized how many christian book and adult book stores were within 1 hour from me..not that I go to either one!!!)
