There was a message on my phone when I got home today from Pam.
She is going through some really bad health problems and has been in the hospital. The situation at home is not good and on top of all that she has to have Murphy put to sleep on Friday. :cry: :cry: :cry:

She said she would try to get on the computer sometime later this week, but I wanted to ask that everyone direct some good loving healing energy toward central Wisconsin.

Prayers for you Pam! I am so sorry about Murphy. It is so hard to have to make that kind of decision, but I am sure that you are doing what is best for him. I am just sorry that you have to suffer such a loss when you yourself have not been well.

This poem helped me so much when I had to say goodbye to Molly. Sending lots of love to Pam.

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. Thank you everyone. All your good thoughts mean a lot to me, and I appreciate everything. There have been days recently when I've wondered how I can possibly go on, and now losing Murphy is killing me inside. Seeing Melinda's post (thank you sweetie :kiss: ) and all the replies helps more than you know. I may not be around much, but my heart is with you all.

I have a link to a photo album of Murphy in my BC profile -- pictures I took today (though there are other albums on that site which show all my "fur babies," including him back to 2004 on the site). There's even a couple pictures of me with him that were taken this evening.

There'll be a lot of tears, as there have been since I've known it was necessary to put him to sleep, but it's my final act of love for a dear friend. He's been my constant comfort during some very dark days in the past year, and a best friend for 10 1/2 years.

Thanks, Appa, for the "Rainbow Bridge" poem; I cried reading it, as I always do. I've always loved it, and it's so perfect -- I appreciate that you reminded me today. It's so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time, but gives hope.

A very special thanks to Rosie who has helped him by sharing her own meds because I couldn't afford them for him (over $200 per month). She's made his life better and longer due to her kindness and I can never adequately repay that.

My personal situation, as Melinda explained, is pretty bad, but I'm hanging in there best I can. As always, I really appreciate all my friends here, the prayers and vibes and good wishes are really overwhelming and wonderful.
