Title: Participating in a Charity Walk
Description: Sponsor me?
PepperVL - March 17, 2007 01:57 AM (GMT)
On April 28th, I'm participating in the local MS Walk. My company is a huge sponsor (last year we had the second biggest team in the COUNTRY) and we're all encouraged to participate. I've done it the past two years, and it's great fun. I'm looking forward to it again this year.
It's a 5 mile walk through Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and we usually have several thousand participants. Western-Southern (my company) is hoping to have 1,000 people on our team this year.
So...I'm asking for any of you who are willing and able to sponsor me. Any amount, no matter how big or small, would be greatly appreciated.
I can accept e-pledges with a credit card
here on the local MS Walk site or checks or money orders in US funds can be made out to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and mailed to me.
All donations are tax deductible in the United States, and I can provide a receipt if you need one for a check or money order (I believe the website will provide a receipt for an e-pledge).
Thanks in advance to anyone who is willing and able!

That's all right! I understand about low funds... that's why I'm walking instead of sponsoring other people!
Well, that and I enjoy the walk and it's good exercise and all.
Thanks though!
And thanks wss4! I saw you were sneaky and got in there without commenting here!

 Thought I was being sneaky. It wasn't much but every little bit helps. Hope that you do well on the walk. :D

Absolutely it does. I don't set a fund raising goal, as I figure every dollar I get for them is a dollar they didn't have before.
Thanks again!

Well, LOL, I'll sponsor you if you sponsor me!
I'm doing a charity walk also - the 2007 Arthritis Walk - and caseyw is walking with my team too!
I wasn't so sure it was kosher to post that kind of solicitation here but now that you've opened the door .... I did post this in the Book talk area because there is a BC book release challenge associated with it.
Here's the info:
My mom fought rheumatoid arthritis for many years so I am walking in her memory with my dog, Sadie.
Our team is named Sadie's Stars!
The Memphis Arthritis Walk is Saturday, May 5th. I would love it if you can join the team and walk with us (no dog required) but unfortunately most of you live too far away! However, you can release books or donate money securely online (even a little bit helps!) in honor of this event.
Here are my personal & team web pages.
Just humor me & check out the site - Sadie is very photogenic!

Bumping this up.
Why, yes, I am begging shamelessly. But it's a good cause. Both causes mentioned in here are good causes.
Dancing-dog... I'll send you a little something with one of my paychecks this month. :)

Ok, it's my turn to shamelessly bump this up!
Pepper's walk is coming up soon - April 28th - so let's show her our support!
(And if you feel like showing me some too, well hey, I wouldn't mind!)
