OK NOW I will attempt to explain how this swap is going to work.....
The matching will take place on Thursday 29th March, the RAIDING on Friday 30th Match and the swap will start as soon as everyone has checked in and confirmed the raiding is complete. I will post the play order on Thursday 29th


1. You sign up as normal, but define what you are offering ie AVL only, AVL/TBR and any restrictions such as no series books.

2. Someone who is NOT playing then does the matching up of who raids who. Pepper is doing this.

3. Once you get your shelf to raid, you have 24 hours MAX to make your raid.

4. You pick 3 books from the shelf you are raiding and PM those choices to the person who's shelf you raided.

5. The person who's shelf you raided then tells you which book from those 3 they are going to reveal and confirms all is well.

6. You then come to the thread and confirm you have RAIDED

7. You also need to come to the thread and confirm you have BEEN RAIDED.

8. Once all raids are confirmed, the swap proceeds as a normal swap like a YBS.

9. You do not have to ask for the reveal of the person who's shelf you raided - you can ask for any reveal you like, or just steal steal steal.

10. At the end of the swap, the matcher posts the list of who raided whom.

11. Five steals and 12 hours waiting time.

12. Please send your reveal (once you have worked out what it is!) to at least two other players.

Here's the rules for my shelf.
- Please choose up to 5 books from TBR or AVL.
- For TBRs, please check the top-most journal entry as it'll be noted if the book is part of my PC. (Until I get everything into my local Book Collector software, it's the only way I can track which PC books are still TBR.)
- Series books are okay so long as it's a series I've already started reading, or the first book of a series if I haven't. (You should be able to tell by looking for other books by that author on my shelf. Easiest to sort TBRs by Author.)


I think that about covers it, but as I read others rules, I'll add to or amend my own as needed.

you better sictk to my tbr cause most of my currently avl books are on portuguese (cause most of the english books I've been reading are alredy promissed to someone else :blush: )

so pick 3-4 from my tbr....no series unless is number one (I have a lot of incomplee series at the moment).

Thanks Giz! And it looks like I'm going to be the "difficult" one eh? Everyone else has such simple rules. But as I mentioned before, I've never played in any of the Raiding Bookshelf type swaps or relays for this very reason, so we'll see how it goes with my rules in effect.

Anything already promised to someone, I know I have marked as reserved, because I have it entered into my local software as well as a TBR - Reserved. So I shouldn't be in danger of those, but I plan to double check them before the start of the swap anyway.

Just a note, all the SSS books are in my TBR, and the other type books, romances, chick lit, whatever I"m not interested in reading, are in my AVL.

We had a pretty huge Best of 2006 swap. What are the limits you set for this? Is 20 or 30 too many? :unsure:

I can't do the matching since I'm playing but I'd be happy to co-host. Just LMK. The only thing I don't know how to do with regards to swaps over here is what you use for a name randomizer. I'm sure I could find something if I google, but I figured I'd find out what y'all use. Though I suspect you'd be doing that portion anyway, right giz?
