TITurtle1 - February 26, 2007 08:45 PM (GMT)

Wow! Y'all that are getting packages so early! Eeek! How cruel of your partner to make you hold onto it for over 2 months without being able to open it. :shedevil:

appaloosatb - February 26, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
Dear May Day Partner:

The closer to May Day my package arrives, the less chance my puppy will "accidentally" chew a hole in the package and the contents will "accidentally" fall out of the box onto my lap...

Love, Sara

user posted imageNote taken! In the event it's sent a couple of weeks before May day, it will be sufficiently Puppy-proofed and Appa-proofed until May day. :D

miss SandDance,

I'm starting to wade through your wishlist to compile a list to take with me out book shopping.

I know you tend to go crazy when finding good book deals, so I'm warning you, don't go to crazy on the wishlist aquasitions before may day!!!

or else I'll have to :shedevil: :whip: :shedevil: you!

The fabulous ghir has just written to offer me Anansi Boys off my wishlist. I was just about to jump at the chance and say YES PLEASE :bananadance: , but then wondered - should I post a little note here and make sure my MayDay partner won't be disappointed if I do?

I'll ask her to wait a day or two and then mail it if nobody's warned me that I'm likely to end up with two copies

I'll *TRY* to be good... I've actually been on a horror kick due to the bookbox getting ready to start up and I don't think I have much of it on my wishlist. I'll go check my wishlist now to make sure I don't have any updates to make.

SandDanz - March 5, 2007 07:11 PM (GMT)
Okay partner... I think I've removed all the stuff from my list that I have already bought, but I might've missed a thing or two... hopefully I didn't mess with your plans.

A book is on it's way to your doorstep via a circuitous route. It will be marked as a May Day package so be sure to hide it away till the special day. Don't even think about peeking! :nono: :shedevil:

This is not your main package, just something I happened across in my browsing. :giggle:

Just thought to ask, do you have any other books by Peter Gethers? (I saw some in a store, and since I only saw the one on your wishlist, I just wanted to make sure before I bought it!) :) :) (Another thought, I was trying to find the book by Noreen Clark, and I haven't found it anywhere, is it a to be released book?)

Woo-hoo! :bananacheer:

Thanks for posting here, partner. It's nice to know that ...
i. I haven't made a big mistake by accepting ghir's book
ii. your plans for my package are underway :D
iii. I won't have to exercise self-control all through March like the people who've got their packages already :P
iv. hopefully your good wishes will get me through this week, which is kind of a doozy (mostly due to me procrastinating earlier and now deadlines are whooshing by me at an alarming rate) :o

Heh I dunno if my May Day partner will hate me or what but in like the last month, at least 10 of my wishlist books have been coming in from PaperBackSwap, so of course I've been accepting them. :D I mean, how could I not when I'm up next in a list of a hundred people and there's not definite my partner would get it for me??

So I apologize in advance, but at least with regards to such wishes coming up in my queue, I'm not gonna stop!! :P Heh, at least I'm not going out actively seeking them. It's just a passive action on my part, being that I was already in queue for them. So that's my justification, and I'm sticking to it!!

Nope, nothing else by Gethers. I have "The Cat Who Went to Paris" on my wishlist because another BXer recommended it in a thread about good books for cat lovers. :)

A Dog Called Blue is one of those books that I think I'll either either be fascinated by or it will bore me to tears. LOL! I think it's probably made by one of the little no-name publishing companies, which is why it's probably hard to find.

The Cat Who Went to Paris is awesome. You'll fall in love with Norton Appa. I finished it and A Cat Abroad, which I didn't like as much, this weekend. The 3rd book, which he said he wouldn't write anymore about Norton in the 2nd, is The Cat Who'll Live Forever. He wrote this after Norton died though. He was 16. (Norton not that author)

It appears that I am not as quick as everyone else seems to be so there's no problem! As long as they aren't on your wishlist anymore, we're good to go. I'll probably be putting it together and shipping it the first or maybe 2nd week of April (Don't want to tempt you too much). I'd say you're fine until, hm, March 31st. :)

Okay that's cool! And anything still expected to come in, that hasn't yet, is marked as pending on my WL so I've been very conscientious keeping that up to date. :D

Of course, I hope you're from outside the US mailing it that early. So I don't get too tempted... :P
