I've read the first two of the series but have now passed them on in swaps, etc, so I can't flip back through to remind myself! I'd like to get started reading Club Dead (#3) soon. I seem to remember more about the first book than the second, but would still love some synopsis and important plot points from both
Thanks in advance for your help! :D
Hope these help Liz.
Plot Summary of Dead Until Dark
Powerful telepath Sookie Stackhouse lives in Bon Temps, Louisiana. Most local residents consider the beautiful twenty-five year old a bit slow, but Sookie knows that she must keep her mental shields in place to avoid inadvertently reading minds. Sookie has no social life, as she detests the idea of listening to her lover's inner thoughts.
When Bill the vampire enters the restaurant where Sookie works, she becomes ecstatic because she cannot hear his thoughts. With vampires recently gaining legal status, Sookie hopes to finally have a bit of a love life. The two outcasts hit it off, but someone is killing the females of the town with Bill and Sookie's brother Jason being the only suspects. Sookie knows that the perpetrator has made her the next target.

Plot Summary of Living Dead In Dallas
It was a lucky day for barmaid Sookie Stackhouse when vampire Bill Compton came into the place where she was working. A very powerful telepath, Sookie is regarded as a pariah by the townsfolk of Bon Temps. Since a vampire's mind is closed to her, Sookie feels comfortable and free to pursue a relationship with Bill without hearing things she need not know. Bill also wants to be involved with Sookie because she doesn't fear him and accepts him as is.
Bill has applied and been awarded the job of investigator of Area 5 but since there is very little trouble occurring at the moment, he is going to Area 6 in Texas. There is a vampire missing from the nest and they want Bill and Sookie to locate him. Their investigation leads Sookie to a radical church group that feels vampires are an abomination and should be destroyed along with their human sympathizers.
Thanks Wendy! Isn't it funny you brought this up! I just picked up Dead as a Doornail (book 5) off my bookshelf last night as I wanted to get caught up on the Sookie books with all the Charlaine Harris stuff I've been getting in lately (Aurora Teagarden, Shakespeare, Harper Connelly). My PC omnibus of books 1-3 is with my friend Amy right now so I couldn't go back and look at them myself either.
But I've noticed Charlaine Harris is pretty good at refreshing your memory. I'm on chapter 4 of Dead as a Doornail right now and any of the character names from previous books, she's given me enough refresher info to remember what went on in previous books. :)
Thanks Wendy! That'll probably be enough to get me going :)

That's good to know, Cherie, thanks. When I start the book I won't worry so much that I don't remember people!
