Title: Rosie, Wendy, why aren't you playing...
Description: in my upcoming PECLF swap?
CheriePie - February 23, 2007 10:21 PM (GMT)
Paranormal, Erotica, Chick Lit, or Fantasy swap
Though I'm hosting it on BookSwap Live, I was thinking of having the chat thread take place over here (which I brought up in
this thread) but you probably didn't read it since you weren't planning on playing. And my book is on both of your wishlists!
Would you be more likely to play if the whole game including the gameplay were hosted here instead?

I'd be more likely to play. :D

And this starts on Monday? Hmmmm....

No reason other than I have just been so busy that I had not even noticed it. lol
I can play on either site, but to be honest I would prefer this site. Only because there are always so many players at BSL that I do not know and most of them are overseas.
But I signed up, and just need to pick a book.
A warning though, I am scheduled to sub all week in Pre-K so will not be online a lot and then not till evening.

Yay!! Wendy's gonna play!! :bananadance:
Okay here's what I decided: It's too close to starting time to be able to contact everyone that's signed up over there and tell them it's moving here, especially since some of the UK participants don't chat much here (yet).
So in my quest to integrate the the cultures of the two sites, I'm gonna leave the game board over at BookSwap Live, but point it to a chat thread over here. Hopefully, we'll get more chit chat going, talking about the various reveals, and so on. :D
Then hopefully after this month, any of the other BSL people who like to play, but don't really hang out here, will have registered here and we've hooked 'em in.

:P
The specific combination of genres for this swap was initially Apolonia's idea, but I wanted to try my hand at running one myself so she didn't mind my taking the reins. If I do it completely here next month, maybe I'll change the genres somewhat. Something like paranormal and dark/urban fantasy... I dunno...
So lemme get my bearings this month by leaving the game part at BSL, but we'll do the chat thread here, cool? B)

Sounds like an excellent idea to me.

Hi! I'm sorry - I hadn't noticed and I just got your PM now - it's almost midnight Saturday. I've been working on a special project the past week and haven't been here much, and probably won't be for awhile either..... I really don't have anything AVL which would fit this swap.... Sorry! :(

I like BSL. I find it easier to work out what's going on. Perhaps it will be different when I'm no longer a beginner.

Actually, from a technical standpoint, I do too. However, if you look at the swap threads here, or have played in any yet, you'll notice the people get a lot chattier, which makes for a funner game overall.
Of course, it's more of a pain to do the updates, but that's not so much of a big deal unless you're playing an ALS, and then it can get crazy trying to keep up with the chat while everyone's playing in real-time, and with a 10 minute max turn time... well I could never imagine doing an ALS here, though we've done a couple. An ALS over on BookSwapLive with the chat application works out much better.
Anyway, so that's one of the main reasons people like the swaps here better, and why I'm hoping to be able to generate near the amount of chatter by having at least the swap thread over here.
Which reminds me, I better go make that change now while I'm thinking of it, and make a note in the current thread over there. :)

we've actually done a lot of ALS's ehre, and they ranged around 2-5 hours depending on how many people were playing.

Well, when I checked last night there were 17 people registered so far. w00t w00t!! :bananadance:
I think I'll start 'er up this afternoon anyway so Ap can start early if she's around. :D
