Title: PoshPoints
Description: Looks new/interesting
candieb - February 21, 2007 04:12 AM (GMT)
Looks like a really nice layout. You can trade basically anything for "points" then buy other stuff people want to get rid of for "points"
http://www.poshpoints.com/default.aspx?ref=626(yes, they have a referral program, so I'll get a few points if you sign up under me)... thinking it might be a good way to get rid of some books and other stuff I have laying around, light though cuz you gotta mail it.
cheesygiraffe - February 21, 2007 01:47 PM (GMT)
Thanks Candy. I'll have to check into that. :)
candieb - February 21, 2007 10:32 PM (GMT)
Cool, I put 24 romances up and they went for 15 points... woohoo! bye bye books!

I already sold a necklace! Now I need to see what I want to get... :bananadance:
BTW you can use me as a referral too :)
fantasy221 - February 26, 2007 02:59 AM (GMT)
I signed up the other day and "bought" two books and "sold" a cd. Looks cool..hopefully some more people will sign up too!
wss4 - February 26, 2007 04:40 AM (GMT)
I'm loving the place. I only have 3 things listed to sell simply because I have not had time to list any more, but I have already bought 3 things. That place will be addicting, I can tell. lol
paganfrog - February 26, 2007 10:58 PM (GMT)

At this time, PoshPoints is only accepting registrations for Unitied States residents!
CheriePie - February 27, 2007 12:26 AM (GMT)
I just registered... and I used your link Candie so you shoulda gotten the referral for me. I haven't listed anything yet, but I'm sure I'll come across some stuff in due time. :)
fantasy221 - March 1, 2007 09:58 PM (GMT)

Yep I have picked up 5 newer paranormal books there in the last few days. Now I am out of points and have to find something to sell! :o
Ri - March 2, 2007 07:29 PM (GMT)
If anyone is missing any of the Stephanie Plum series, nearly all of them are listed for 2 points each!
cheesygiraffe - March 2, 2007 07:42 PM (GMT)
It won't let me register as cheesygiraffe!
Apparantly it's too long, I can be cheesygiraff though. :bash: I'm deciding what to do about the name.

needmorezoloft - March 5, 2007 05:00 PM (GMT)
crud... you guys snatched up all the good books :P
wss4 - March 8, 2007 04:23 AM (GMT)
I have to tell you how much I am loving this site. I have bought a dozen books. several off of my wish list. I have sold 10 books so far and I am racking up the referral points from my other online home (although they just revamped the site tonight and you now only get 10 points for referrals, and of course they have to post items to see).
I am addicted. Thanks Candieb (I think) lol

Ha! Someone is listing Wild Animus for 4 points!
http://www.poshpoints.com/Ads/Wild-Animus_12326.aspxThis is a real deal, folks. Hurry and jump on it!!

I decided to jump on the bandwagon today. I can't wait to get home (leaving work in 10 minutes!) to see what I can list. I was just about to take a bunch of clothes and odds and ends to Goodwill, but I think I'll try posting them instead.
I was looking at a thread of PBS about PoshPoints and someone mentioned ordering a box of 24 romances. I wonder if these were yours?
ETA: I scrolled down further in that thread and saw your post Candy - they were indeed yours! How neat!

Beware, there is someone named Mari44 posting lots of books on Posh Points - sounds an awful lot like Marita44 the infamous hoarder from bookcrossing. This is unconfirmed however! It could just be an unfortunate mistake!

My opinion is that they are not the person. The mari44 on poshpoints is located in IL and the one on BC is in Washington. The description of the books on poshpoints is what really gives it away for me... proper capitalization, coherant sentences...things that marita44 can't fake!!

I am glad to hear that it is just an unfortunate coincidence!

What am I missing here? I registered and I've been browsing over there for the past hour (YIKES!) and I'm not finding a damn thing. When I use the search to look for a particular seller's items - it just gives me what looks like a random listing - certainly not a list of the particular seller's items - the only way I get that is if I follow someone's link to their items. I've tried various searches and they just don't return what I'm looking for..... and I can't find any way to look people up - like how do you check someone's feedback? I'm feeling dumb as a rock here but I'm not finding the site user friendly - what's the scoop Peeps??
wss4 - March 15, 2007 09:24 PM (GMT)
There is no feedback feature Rosie.
As for looking up a particular persons items you have to go to "Advanced Search" and scroll down to the bottom. Then you type in the persons username (wss4 for instance) and it will take you to a page with just that persons listings.
The site is growing by leaps and bounds and I have seen a lot more junk going up. If you weed through you can find some good stuff. I have picked up quite a few wishlist books and last night I bought the First Season of Highway to Heaven on DVD for 10 points. But I have points to spend and have not seen anything terribly interesting lately.
I have however been selling like crazy. I have had to stop listing so that I can catch up with mailing. So I am hoping that as more people join, that more good stuff becomes available.

Hm, no feedback huh - so you don't know anything about the person you're dealing with..... not sure I like that.....
Thanks for the response, wss4, but the advanced search using the person's name was what I tried using and it didn't bring up the correct info for me.... maybe it's just glitching right now or something - I'll try it again later. :)
BTW - your "My Other Online World" link doesn't work for me - I get a "server not found" error message......

Well, they either get credit or they don't. If you don't get the item within a couple weeks (I can't remember if it is 2 or 3) then you contact admin and they give you the points back and take em from the seller. The number after the user name (seen when you are looking at one of their items) indicates the number of items that have been confirmed as received. I've gotten several items including a very cute tie-dyed romper for the new baby. I've also sold a few things too. I've been very happy with the site!

There is also a paranormal lot of 7 books up for grabs right now too for 25 points. A little high but might be worth it if you have not read the books.
http://www.poshpoints.com/Ads/ParanormalVa...more_43629.aspxThere are also a couple of Jim Butchers Wizard books -- High priced but if someone has the points to spend?
