Title: BookCrossing label sites ??
Description: has anyone put together one site
twiggywig - February 18, 2007 10:33 PM (GMT)
I finally could afford to get an ink cartridge for my printer. Now I want to make labels in order to start leaving this HUGE mound of books here and there.
HELP :bounce:

I always look at the links on BC..... there are quite a few different ones there. And Danes makes THE coolest labels :D
Rebemdee - February 18, 2007 11:03 PM (GMT)
I've stopped using labels. I just use the stamp because ink for it is cheap, it can't be peeled off, and it is relatively small compared to labels. It was a good investment.
CheriePie - February 19, 2007 12:13 AM (GMT)
I've got a number of them bookmarked:
BookCrossing - Bookmarks, Labels, Stampsadnyl's BookCrossing designs & labelsWanderingWord: Bookcrossing Labels by SaineCrustyTapioca BookCrossing labels no longer online?Labels for BookCrossing by boirinasaffista's BookCrossing labelsTexasWren's BookCrossing labelsTheBloody's BookCrossing labelsBXlabel : Bookcrossing Label Group (Yahoo!)I've made a few different labels myself too, using MS Publisher, but so far, only one was converted to PDF, that I had woosang do for me, and she put it up at the BXlabel group above. (It's a small simple text only one for when you want to keep it small, sweet, and discreet.) I should eventually send her a zip with some of my others to convert to PDF and put up there too...
ETA the label below:These labels print on Avery 5160 labels (1" x 2-5/8", 30 per page). Click the image below to download the PDF.

These labels are designed to be very unobtrusive and because they don't specifically say
"Read and Release Me" are appropriate even for books that you plan to keep in your PC. (And then if you lend it out, it's still got tracking capabilities.)

Heh :) I saw your post and realized I probably should've changed the name on mine anyway. When I first bookmarked the site she didn't use that name, so my Bookmark was still saved with the old name. But thanks to your post anyway, you made me realize that so I updated it everywhere, including in my favorites. :D

I made labels for Cosmicgin last year. I still have them saved. I can always change the alien to something else but I never use labels anymore. I just write the bcid# in the book.

Nou also makes really nice labels...
morsecode - February 19, 2007 02:21 AM (GMT)
Here's some that my coworker designed for me. I print 'em out on full-sheet label stock and then trim them down (there's also a link in my signature)

I tend to make my own using MS Publisher so even though I use the same text I can change the picture. I'd consider getting a stamp though if I could find a place that would make one exactly the way I want without being too expensive.
nursiegirl42 - February 19, 2007 03:46 AM (GMT)
I make my own labels as well!
dancing-dog - February 19, 2007 06:21 PM (GMT)
Oh, those are very nice! - love the quote & picture. Is the coworker a BCer too?
needmorezoloft - February 21, 2007 04:22 PM (GMT)
I'm glad you guys did this! I've got tons that are the standard from BC that already have the #s on them, but its starting to get old.
I have a box of labels that are 10 to a page I think 2X4, so I'm gonna look thru those sites and see if I can't find some cute ones I can use for those stickers!
:bananacheer:
OH, and because I'm such a

I may just have to create a page with all kinds of BC links and goodies and stuff. when/if I do, I'll post it here.

I wish you would. I think it would be very helpful to have a page with this info.
Now if I could just get the pdf files to open. :angry2: My work comp is being cranky about opening them today for some reason.

I got her to get a screen name, but she doesn't register her own books (she gives them to me to register :bananadance: ). She does journal the BC books that I loan her to read though

I create all my own labels too. It's fun cause I can alter them according to season of release or holidays. I'd share them but don't know how to convert them to .pdf ... I use my printshop to do them.

Needmorezoloft's BC'ing goodies pageI'll update with more stuff as I find it. This is the only place so far I've put this, there is no link to it anywhere else.
I had thought about putting links to BC'rs myspace and other blogs and stuff, but decided against it. I only used the links via the members blogs post.
PLEASE email me some more stuff if you would like it added. J's at her Aunt and Uncles this weekend, so I'm FREE till Sunday!

What a great collection!
I guess it was a good question to ask. I had no idea that there were so many talented folk out there...THANKS :D
I once recieved some georgeous flowered lables (part of a holiday swap) but they are so pretty I hate to use them
My immediate goal is to get this ever increasing mountain of read books lables and out the door...YES!
thanks again...twigg

yes I found that one the other day but indeed they aren't prepared for download and printing. Also many cannot be seen separately but only on that, main page.

 My fault. You have to go to her main page and then open or download the pages with the labels. They are in Micrsoft Word format though.

My printer isn't working so I can't make labels right now. If any of you are willing to make some for me, I will be happy to send you some books on my TBR or available shelf or pay for postage. Please contact me thanks.
