Since we seem to have a small but steady influx of new people, I thought it might be nice to have a thread where they can stop in and introduce themselves. And then we can all whip them in greeting :evil: :lol:

Likewise, if someone knows they're going to be taking a break from here, it might be nice to have a place where they can let us know that they're fine, just stepping away from the internet for a bit. :)

On that note... Next week (2/19 - 2/23) I will be off work... they call it furlow (sp?) days... which is fancy ass language for saying the plant will shut down for a week... which means, I'll be on unemployment for a week, which means I won't have to show my bootie here for a week, and the state will pay for it (since I don't get vacation or holiday pay)

I'm kinda a broke a$$ right now.. but if my tax return comes back soon (which it freakin' should) then I might take a day or two and go do stuff... like to to Oklahoma with mom to the Red River Museum (day trip) or go into Sherman.. stuff like that.

Anyway, I wanted to give y'all a heads up that I'll be online less that week. :wink:

Law school is the reason I have less time to me! In Canada we don't get a JD, but a LLB (I think, something LL? anyway), but since I want to practice international law, a masters is almost mandatory, so I'm planning ahead.

I'll pop in, but less often than last year because I must focus on the readings. I hope law school's treating you well!

ugh, sorry to hear you dont just get a JD. I'd be mad if I went through all of this and still had to go to grad school after.

From next week I will have a new job - yes at last I am starting work in the prison - but I am pretty sure I won't be able to log on from work. But I will still be around in the evenings..... :D you don't get rid of me that easily!

The other thing about the job is no mobile phones :o how am I going to survive my days without SMS? :cry:

I'm probably not going to be around much for the next few days.

First of all, I'm having a ton of trouble staying logged in... Cherie's working with me on it, but who knows when it'll be fixed.

And also, I've had a cyst on my head for about 7 years or so... the doctor said it was harmless when I first noticed it, so I didn't worry about it. Well, this weekend it started hurting, and after having a complete breakdown yesterday I went to Urgent Care where they told me it was infected and needed to come off and that I had to see a dermatologist to do so.

I saw the dermatologist today... and have several (4 or 5 I think) stitches in my scalp... a 1 1/2 inch diameter area of shaved hair, and no more cyst.

Of course, now I have pain from the infection AND from the surgery. I'm seriously considering not going to work tomorrow. I guess we'll see how I feel in the morning. But right now I just feel like crap and I'd imagine I will for a few days so I may not be around much. :(

(((Pepper))) Ouch! Keep the wound clean. I wouldn't go to work either. I'd be afraid of germs. I'm weird like that or maybe I look for any excuse not to work. LOL

awww, poor pepper. I say take the day off tomorrow and work on feeling better!

Hey kids! I'm on vacation! Ok, it's a working vacation, but a vacation nonetheless. We're in Florida, staying in our old neighborhood. We got in yesterday and are happily catching up with all our old friends.

So, I'm not spending as much time as usual on-line. And starting Tuesday, we'll be pretty much without Internet access. We'll be home again the first weekend of March.

If anyone needs to send stuff for catsalive's M-bag or the Aussie Convention M-bag, my address is on the favorites site. (We're moving at the end of March, so if you have stuff, it would be best to send it now or wait until April 1.)

My dad rearranged the office last night, so I doubt if I'm connected to the web at home. Its a mess right now... I can still get on at work :rolleyes: Just not sure when I'll be back online at home.

Well, the forum problem fixed itself... I got up one morning last week, and BO liked me again. I dunno why it stopped. I always liked it.

My head is doing... better. I'm still fighting the infection, and that plus the side effects of the antibiotic are making me really tired, so I'm not online as much, but I have been stopping in here. And the nurse at work says that the incision looks really good... so that's a good thing.

Thanks for all the well-wishes and stuff.

And yes, I did stay home last Wednesday. I got up in the morning and it took me about two minutes to decide that work wasn't going to happen. I was exhausted after feeding the cats. *laughs*

I thought I was going to be away for six weeks. We had some problems with things breaking on the boat. We have returned home after a week. We are waiting for parts to arrive. I am not sure what we will do when everything is fixed. Anyway I am back for at least the nex 2 weeks.

See.. I need to keep up with this thread... that's how I got ahead of pepper...
