Description: Yeeeeeee! It's time!

Xeyra - February 14, 2007 12:11 AM (GMT)
I'm awake and I have my Valentine package in my hands so I'm opening it right now. Just starting the thread and the opening wave. :)

:bananadance:   :bounce:  ^_^
And we're starting!!!!

Xeyra - February 14, 2007 12:25 AM (GMT)
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Who would have thought there were so many goodies in that red package? I opened it in front of my brother and he was even more excited than I was because he was shuffling through everything as I read the card I was sent. My most adoring, lovely and generous Valentine was Wendy, aka, wss4, and just check what she sent me!!!
  • Four volumes of The Dark is Rising Sequence by Susan Cooper and that made me squeee, because I've heard so damn much about this series, that practically everybody seems to have read and I've wanted to read them for a long while now. So thank you so much, Wendy! The books made my day and I'm not even half through the package. :)
  • The most adorable Valentine's Card, with this oh so cute bear holding a bouquet of flowers. I loved it.
  • Sweets!!! There was a heart candy ring and a box of heart-shaped chocolates my brother wanted to steal right away but I didn't let him. Grrr grrr, *my* chocolates. ;)
  • Two heart-shaped bath fizzers. My brother was so disappointed those weren't chocolate too. :P
  • Stationary items, including two pens (one of which has a love light!!! LOL), two butterfly-shaped notebooks and a heart-shaped paper holder.

Plus, she sent me the two Fantasy VBB books I got out of the box. Yay! :)

Thank you so much, Wendy. You're the sweetest!   :flowers:

SandDanz - February 14, 2007 05:11 AM (GMT)
Okay... I'm extremely exhausted & my throat is hurting, but I had to stay up! I have a small package and a huge box sitting here! The first package kinda gave away my partner due to they wrote on it "DO NOT OPEN UNTIL VALENTINE's DAY! ORDERS FROM BOOKCROSSER LOVEMYLIFE!" So... Thank you Gerda for all of the following that I'm about to tear into! :D

The first package contained a Japanese graphic novel (in Japanese... cool!) It appears to be Rorouni Kenshin Vol. 2. Awesome! Thanks to you and your helper! :)

Now... for the monster box!

The cover is decorated with all sorts of hearts on it... very cutely decorated! Upon opening the box I see red tissue paper and a few sprinkles of heart confetti (UH OH!!!)

Pulling the tissue paper aside I see lots and lots of stuff, but start pulling out things 1 by 1:

a V-day decoration... not sure what these are called, but basically a "string" with little hearts springing off of it all around it

Next up is a card that has a cupid on the front carrying a rose that says "Valentine Greetings". Very pretty card!

More confetti...

Oooh... a spiral bound Sudoku book!!! I can never get enough of these puzzles!!!

Okay, gonna list stuff now but will probably make comments about most as I go... just too many items to keep saying "next up... next up"

a pair of ankle socks... light blue with white stripes

inside the socks I pulled out a Hello Kitty ornament in the shape of a cell phone! I absolutely love that! I collect the Hello Kitty Christmas ornaments and don't have this one yet! I hadn't even seen this one, but a cell phone for me is perfect!

a 2-pack of black sharpies! (can never get enough of these!)

Lots of Confetti...

a medium size notepad with a cool picture of a tiger on the front in front of a moon and the earth

more socks... 3 pack of spandex socks that look really comfy in various colors!

LMFAO! A card game called "Management Material" (The card game of cubicle denizens)... I may have escaped my cubicle when I switched jobs, but I'm sure this game will still be hilarious!!!

*taking a quick break because Noumena keeps messaging me to hurry!* :P

Books...

Portrait in Death by J.D. Robb (Wishlist)
Imitation in Death by J.D. Robb (Wishlist)
The Crepes of Wrath by Tamar Myers (Wishlist)
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho (looks good!)
Confessions of a Closet Catholic by Sarah Darer Littman (from teen VBB)

Under the books...

a 25 count box of 6"*9" mailing envelopes (definitely can use those!!!)
a 4-color cube of sticky notes
Hello Kitty stickers
Lots of Dove heart-shaped candies

Did I mention confetti?!?!? LOTS of Confetti!!!

Oooh... and the best of all... 2 big packs of Cherry Pull 'n' Peel Twizzlers! *DROOL*

Thank you so much Gerda! I truly appreciate everything and really could use the pick-me-up right about now. I hope you have a fabulous Valentine's Day!!!

I'm off to bed now as I have to get up in 7 hours and am hoping my sore throat will go away.

CheriePie - February 14, 2007 05:15 AM (GMT)
I wonder if I should wait to see if my other package arrives tomorrow or open up what I have now?

Actually, Mike's about to head to bed soon and I have a bunch of books strewn all over the bed as I was trying to organize more of them into boxes based on genre today, so I gotta take care of that so that he can get to bed. Otherwise, he'll totally undo the sorting I did into piles so he can clear the bed off.

So I'll be back in a few...

AlterEgoZoe - February 14, 2007 05:20 AM (GMT)
Ok, ok!! My lovely cupid was CdnBlueRose (would have never known! lol).

In my package I received:~
3 candy bars! w00t!! I will proceed to eat them within the next 24 hours. *hehe*

Cemetery of Angels by Noel Hynd (wishlist)
Shattered Silk by Barbara Michaels (wishlist)
Sons of the Wolf by Barbara Michaels (wishlist)

noumena12 - February 14, 2007 05:26 AM (GMT)
I can't stay up any longer...4am wakeup call. Hopefully, I'll be online tomorrow afternoon!

wss4 - February 14, 2007 05:29 AM (GMT)
Sand I sure hope you are not catching strep. We have it running rampant in our house at the moment!

Since I am up, I figure I might as well open my packages too.

The first package which came via PBS contains---

Desire After Dark by Amanda Ashley (a wish list book :bananadance: )

The second package contains -- 2 more wish list books, which help me complete a series that I have been trying to find-- The Sorority Merilyn & The Sorority Samantha by Tamara Thorne!!

Thanks so much to my fantastic Valentine pal Three104!! It always makes my day to complete a series so that I can read it and Amanda Ashley is an author who I have been wanting to read, so you picked perfectly. Thank you so much and I hope that your valentines day is a wonderful one!!

I just finished Merilynn earlier today (my review should be up on my blog within the next 1/2 hour as I just finished writing it a couple minutes ago. :D I liked it and Eve that I've read so far. Once I finish Samantha, these are reseved for karendawn from October's series swap. :o

ramson - February 14, 2007 05:49 AM (GMT)
I am heading home from work now. I want to open my packages as soon as I get home but BF could change those plans.

CheriePie - February 14, 2007 06:41 AM (GMT)
Okay, I figured I'll wait until tomorrow day to see if my mail carrier delivers my other package from Franci, rather than open the one PBS package I've got here now and the rest later. I know we're supposed to get a Northeaster, though the snow hasn't started here in the Boston area yet, but you know, that shouldn't hold up the post office anyway, right? Through rain, or sleet, or snow... and all that.

However, I did open the email from her, so I'll paste that below:

Hello Dear CheriePie!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

While standing in line at the post office Monday, I realized that it would cost a ridiculous amount of money to get your package to you overnight.  I took a chance and sent it Priority Mail instead, hoping it would make it to you by the 14th.  And the money that would have been spent getting your package to you earlier, was donated in your name (and in honor of your bunnies) to Fuzzy Friends Animal Rescue.  I hope I made the right decision!

Have a great Valentine's Day, knowing you warmed the hearts of little bunnies (and some dogs and cats) in Waco, Texas!

xoxoxo,
FranciJo

Awww Franci! I love  that idea! I donate regularly to the MSPCA and other animal shelters myself, one of the few things I do donate to, so I'm all for what you did. How thoughtful! And I like knowing that the money that would've otherwise went to the PO and thus the government instead went to help provide food and shelter for homeless pets, and bunnies too!  and from Rudy and Sasia user posted image

As I said above, I'll hold my PBS package to see if the rest arrives here tomorrow, and if it doesn't, then I'll just open the one. But I wanted to have the chance to keep them together if possible.

Thank you sweetie!! Happy Valentine's Day to you too!

Nothing on the box to say it was for Valentine's, but I kind of guessed it was

After 101 questions from the children (what is it, who's it from, what's inside, why haven't I got one!) I opened up the box to find...
