Title: Book Challenge!
Description: for a cause near & dear to me

dancing-dog - February 13, 2007 10:50 PM (GMT)
Save some books to release!

Some of you may know that I support bethieb's Arthritis Walk - You Can Make a Difference Challenge each year as well as the Arthritis Foundation by participating in the local Memphis walk.

Bookcrossers have been a great support in this effort. :D
We're counting on your support again this year.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, I'm inviting you to participate in bethieb's Arthritis Walk You Can Make a Difference Challenge.
Here's the link: bethieb's Arthritis Walk You Can Make A Difference challenge
My mom fought rheumatoid arthritis for many years so I am walking in her memory with my dog, Sadie.
Our team is named Sadie's Stars!
The Memphis Walk is Saturday, May 5th. I would love it if you can join the team and walk with us (no dog required) but unfortunately most of you live too far away! However, you can release books or donate money (even one dollar helps!)in honor of this event.
Here are my personal & team web pages.
Just humor me & check out the site - Sadie is very photogenic!
THANKS for your support!!
Sadie is a beautiful girl! :D
I may be able to walk with your team. Will have to see as we get closer to that date what's on the schedule. I couldn't bring my guys though cause they get to freaked out with all the people.
dancing-dog - February 14, 2007 10:01 PM (GMT)
Oh I hope you can walk with us!! :bounce: I'll keep my fingers crossed!
I understand about freaked-out dogs - Sadie gets a bit excited herself. This year I'm making her a backpack so she can carry the water and I'm hoping the extra weight will calm her down a bit.
dancing-dog - February 14, 2007 10:03 PM (GMT)
ALSO, I forgot to mention that bethieb is offering a RABCK to go along with the challenge:
If you participate, you will be entered in a drawing for a prize each month!
The prizes will vary month to month but for February, she's offering:
a $5 (US) donation to an Arthritis Walk, any available or TBR book from her bookshelf, 6 Arthritis Walk bookplates and a bookmark. If the winner isn?t participating in a Walk, they can pick a walker or a team, and the $5 donation will be made in the winner?s name.
LOL, so now you have added motivation to participate!!
Seriously, THANK YOU all for your support!
My second release
The Conquest
COOL! How are Pebbles & Bam Bam doing? And what's the parrot's name?
caseyw - February 27, 2007 10:24 PM (GMT)
Pebbles is fine. Little miffed about having her annual and nails clipped today. :P Having to start her on daily vitamins and rimadyl every other day now instead of as needed. Sucks getting old.
Bam-Bam is doing better. He's recovering from an embarrassing accident last week. Apparently something some how punctured him in a place no guy ever wants to be injured. :o Not sure he got bit or a stick flipped up and caught him or what. Very strange.
Sugar is the bird's name and she's fine.
Sadie getting ready for her walk in May?
dancing-dog - March 1, 2007 04:20 PM (GMT)
We have been practicing walking with her wearing her Gentle Leader harness that has a clip in the front - so much better, she doesn't pull my arm off now!
Also I have finished making her backpack (except got to put the velcro on) and she has modeled it around the house carrying water & dog water dish - she looks SO CUTE with it on. Will try to get a pic of her with it on to post.
Poor Bam-Bam! And how weird! Sounds like it would hurt, poor baby.
Rimadyl - the dog arthritis medication - so fitting in more ways than one that you are supporting the Arthritis Walk!
What kind of parrot is Sugar? Does she talk?
She's an African Gray and oh boy does she ever talk. Usually when you don't want her too. Always nice when she throws out one of those inappropriate words when your on the phone with someone or have company. :lol:
