Dollar Store Exchange

OK this is how this swap will work:


-First you make a list of things you like/interests (candle scents, kitchen utensils needed, snacks ect) that you like/need and can be purchased at the Dollar Store.

-After we have a good even number of participants I will match people up.

-Then you go shopping and get your buddy a Good Box of stuff from the dollar store.

-You will then send it out by the Ship date and we all tell what goodies we got!


US and Non-US players WELCOME! If you do not want to mail international just PM me. I will buddy you up to a appropriate player.

Minimum Dollar amount $10.00 not including shipping

Thanks for jumping right into the fun. Here's my 2 cents:

I love your idea of a Dollar Store Swap :bananadance: ! Right now I'm sitting out exchanges & swaps and concentrating on paying bills :whip: , but I'd be tempted to join in the future. I would prefer, however, a lower limit, like $5 ...

Anastasia, what you're describing sounds more like a "Gift Exchange" than a "Swap". This is exactly how we do our Exchanges and we have a separate forum for them. So I'm going to move this thread from the Swaps to the Exchanges forum.

In the Exchanges forum, you'll notice we also have a Favorites thread pinned at the top for people to note the kinds of things they like, and many people have already indicated a lot of the stuff you're asking about. So make sure to make a post for yourself in the Favorites thread as well.

Please ask if you have any questions...

Hey Cherie maybe we should change the title of this thread to exchange instead swap so it won't confuse people? :huh:

I thought of that, but then I kinda hate changing people's words on them, which is why I didn't do it. *shrug* Maybe we should though, or at least add the word Exchange in parens after? Because you're right, it is confusing see the word swap in the title when it truly is an exchange and belongs in here...

ETA - Okay, I just went up and added "/Exchange" to the end of the title. :D

Well I am game. I love the Dollar Store and I love exchanges so sign me up!!

I will edit in some ideas of thins I could use in a day or so.

Hmmm I would join but have a couple of questions first.

Is this a USA only or international exchange? Here in Australia there aren't any dollar stores (can you believe that?). So when you say $10 do you mean US$10 or $10 in our country? :D Because I wouldn't want to join if people are getting 10 items and I can only provide 5 due to cost .. know what I mean?

I was wondering about that. Not awake enough this morning to try to think of alternatives. Maybe mom2cass will come up with something to make this fair to our international friends.

I think this should be for everyone! If someone does not want to mail international they can PM me and I will not buddy them up to a player out of the country :D
