Title: Acres of Books
Description: bookstores that go on forever

While visiting my sister (bookpatch) last week in Calif, we found a wonderful used bookstore called "Acres of Books" in Long Beach. It was humongeous - it really did take up acres with aisles that went on forever - fantastic! We were there for several hours and if we hadn't had some other committments, well, who knows?!
You would be proud of me - I was very restrained - and only walked out with 5 books!
(Ahem, umm, of course we did go to some other bookstores while I was there and umm maybe bought some other books!) B)
Any one else ever been there? Tell me about the best used bookstore near you!

Wow! That sounds like the Strand bookstore in NYC (which, I believe has 18 NYC blocks of books).
My favorite UBS, though, would be the Back Door Bookstore. I walked out of there with 5 books, and the total was $3.50! (Oh! You would also have to see their "Love Shack" which houses all of their Romance books.) Love that place.

Mmmm... I love used book stores!
I used to live in Ottawa, and The Book Market downtown was a great place to lose a couple hours in... four floors and over 7,000 square feet of space.

I love hitting the used book stores. Dancing-dog and I are lucky to have several ubs around town, but nothing as big as the ones y'all have described. I'm partial to Book Stop Plus in Bartlett. My least favorites are Book Depot and one in Raleigh, I can't think of the name of it.

One of the ubs I pass by regularily on my walk to the main library branch/downtown Evanston has a sign in the window advertising the prices for buying hardbacks in bulk. If anyone wanted to, they can buy lots of 500 or 1200 books at once.
It's a small storefront, but there is alot of books packed in there with prices never exeeding $2.
