Ok let's hear some of your thoughts on a name then I can start a poll if it isnt a majority thing..

I'm going to reshuffle the names and get the list up and let me know should we start March or April.. either way is good with me.

I'm fine with either March or April. I'll have to think of the name thing though, although I do like the dirty dozen.

Also, are we going to send wishlist books or are we going to list everyone's favorite genre? Just curious.

Umm.. as for wishlist or fave genres either is good with me.. I think that gives people alittle more options but some people really like to get wishlist books.. thoughts? I really don't want to make discussions for the whole group myself I want you alls input since its about all of us and its supposed to be fun!

I try to think of something along A Dime a Dozen... but haven't come up with anything clever. If we were all into crime & thrillers it can be A Crime A Dozen, or if poetry A Rhyme A Dozen...

How about 12 Steps Bookaholics? Or 12BeRead? OverBooked 12? Chapter 12?

Either month will be fine. I'd rather not restrict us to wishlist books. I like the element of surprise in both giving and receiving, but whatever y'all decide will

I'll volunteer to keep up with what everyone is sending for your month. That way you will be surprised!

Maybe when the list order is posted we could all go in and post a link to our wishlists and maybe what genre we prefer. It doesnt' matter to me if it's a wishlist book or something else. I may be the only picky one buy I only read a couple of genres.

I certainly don't mind receiving books that aren't on my wishlist. I'm always open to trying new things. I will probably be sending wishlist books though since it will be easier for me.

The person who checks the books for duplicates for each month could rotate each month as well... for example, the person that has April could be the checker for May...that way no one person is constantly having to do it and during the one month that you aren't sending a book, you will still have something to do!!

That's a good idea, for shifting trackers for each month. That way we'd all share the responsibility.

Names: I REALLY like 12 Steps, 12 Step Bookaholics, and the Dirty Dozen. Those are my favorite three.

Start Date: Doesn't matter to me! Whatever everyone else wants to do.

Wishlist/Genre: It could be up to the sender or if someone only wants wishlist books they could just request that.

OK it's up to you. But from my point of view (I'm the checker for one group (BallySwapper) for whole year except for mine month of course) it's not hard job at all and changing checkers every month was actually quite confusing so we gave up from that idea after first month. As I said it's up to you, but from our experience it's better to pick someone willing to do checks for entire circle.

As to a name, there are some good ones already given. All I can think of is The Bookies.

I love both Chapter 12 and The Dirty Dozen.

As for wishlist books, I don't think it should be a necessity to send one but my own personal preference is to try my best to send one. In the other group I am in we all stated what genres we like and don't like and that guideline has seemed to work well. I'd hate to send someone who doesn't ever, ever read a mystery a mystery book, KWIM?

As for alternating checkers, I for one think that would get awfully confusing. I am the checker for the Reading Divas and its not any real work at all. I just have a folder that I keep a page for each person and write who is sending them what.

Some people (like me, for example) tend to have hard to find, obscure or foreign out of print books on their list, so it is not always so easy to find a wishlist book. I would like to know the genre someone is interested in, as well as working from their wishlist.

Name? I love the idea of a name with 'Dozen' in it but I can't think of anything much ..... the Bookish Dozen? :unsure:

well I think we will go with Chapter 12 book exchange.. seems like alot of people like this.. or do you like Chapter 12 Ladies Book Exchange better.. or here's another. A Dozen Chapters of Thoughtfulness... since we would all be considered a chapter.

I think I prefer Chapter 12... it is short and easy to remember.

We could also be The Chapters and then each of us would be Chapter 1 - March; Chapter 2 - April; etc., etc...

I'm late to this discussion...had a long, busy week! I guess I haven't quite missed the opportunity to throw in my two cents....sooo... what if we turned the Dirty Dozen into the "Wordy Dozen"? :lol:

And personally, I'm for starting in April, but that's just because I'm moving in March which will make it a bit of a hectic month for me. I'm sure I can work with whatever everybody decides, though. :)
