This was the second time an M-bag was returned to me. The first time both post offices I do business with claimed it wasn't mailed there. I got smart after that and saved my receipts. And the books did get to their destination eventually, in ladiibbug's M-bag.
This morning there was another M-bag on the table, returned to me for whatever reason. I think the tags disappear from the bags or something. Anyway, I took receipt and M-bag to the post office, and surprise! They took it back and I didn't have to pay for it again.
Then I mailed another M-bag. I asked the clerk to put PAID on the package and the amount I paid and then stick a piece of tape over it so nobody could wipe it off. Now if the tags get ripped off again, at least I have proof that I paid. And I have the receipt. :rolleyes:

Yikes! Sorry LML that you have to go the hard way about mailing the m-bags. Darn US PO. <_<

wow! sorry for that (good advice for m-bag collectors, I'll send morsie link). Luckily m-bag wasn't lost in the mail ...

Sorry to hear about that, LML! What a pain! When I mail mbags, the P.O. staff has always written "MBAG PAID" in black marker across the top of the box in case the bag gets separated from it - it's too bad that postal employees don't seem to all have the same instructions for sending them......
The last ones I sent, the clerk was telling me that the post office is now trying VELCRO closures on the mbags because clerks were having too much trouble fastening the metal clips on the older closures that use rope...... I thought it might be easier for THEM, but I can see velcro closures coming open a lot easier too..... :bash:

:cry: Geez, LML, how frustrating!! Good thing you saved your receipt and were able to resend for no add'l. charge.
Thanks to your advice a few months ago I saved my m-bag receipt till it arrived (and will continue to do that!).
My post office staff also told me to write "M-bag Postage Paid" on the outside of the box, and they double checked that it was so noted.
