Title: Daughters of the Moon #1-12
Description: giveaway (U.S. only - sorry!)
karendawn - July 27, 2008 03:50 PM (GMT)
I'm cleaning out my apartment and I found a box of books that I've almost forgotten about. It contains #1-12 of the Daughters of the Moon series by Lynne Ewing. It looks like I read the first book, but I honestly have so much TBR that I don't think I'll get around to the rest anytime soon. And so I'd rather these books went to someone else who would actually read them.
So from now until tomorrow around 5 pm EST, I'll be taking names of anyone interested in these books (the whole series, not individual books). And I'm really really sorry but my finances have to make me limit this to U.S. only. But if you're in the U.S. and you'd like to read this series, just post here. I'll put the names in a hat and pick one tomorrow evening and that'll be who gets the books. (Of course, if you'd like to remember who else was interested and pass them along when you're finished, that would be great.)
Here are the BC links to each book so you can see what they're about:
#1: Goddess of the Night#2: Into the Cold Fire#3: Night Shade#4: The Secret Scroll#5: The Sacrifice#6: The Lost One#7: Moon Demon#8: Possession#9: The Choice#10: The Talisman#11: The Prophecy#12: The Becoming

I would be very interested. I have been working on collecting this series so that both dd and I can read it.
I have #1 & #2 but would love to have the rest. If I win and you want to send the entire set, I would be happy to pass on any duplicates.

I'm interested. :D
I don't have any of them, and they look interesting.
Amberkatze - July 27, 2008 07:18 PM (GMT)
If you would consider sending them to Kathy for the Mbag please add me! Maybe she wants to read them too...
Oh and if there is enough interest maybe start a bookray?? These books would be hard for me to find and the whole collection is a treat.

I'd like to enter too please! I've looked for these but they seem hard to come by - I have #1 and #9 already, but as Wendy mentioned as well, I'd happily pass along duplicates right away and would definitely pass along the series once read! :)

I would like to enter. From the looks of things they look interesting, and I bet my niece would love to read them as well.

I've got all you guys in the drawing so far. Will draw the "winner" tonight. :)
And I'm not interested in starting a bookray because I honestly don't want the responsibility of maintaining it. But if the one who gets the series wants to start one, I think that would be great (but not required).

I would be interested as well. I've been wanting to get this series for awhile. I think have one or two of them.
GateGypsy - July 28, 2008 05:05 PM (GMT)
oh wow, look at all the entries! :o
Gothamgal - July 28, 2008 08:25 PM (GMT)
Can I still join? I've been looking at these lately... Look like a cool, quick read!
karendawn - July 28, 2008 08:38 PM (GMT)
Anyone else? I'll be back in about an hour or so to check for any new entries and then to draw the winner. :D
karendawn - July 29, 2008 01:47 AM (GMT)
Oops. Got sidetracked with knitting so I forgot to come back when I said I would. But I'm here now and just about ready to draw the winner.
Making slips of paper...
Folding them up...
And the winner is...
*drumroll*
Pepper!
I'll be going to the post office in the next couple of days so I'll send you the books then. Thanks, everyone, for the interest and I'm happy to get these books off to someone who'll enjoy them. :)

And don't worry, guys. I'm not sure I'm up to a ring or ray, but they'll definitely make an appearance on this site somewhere again. :giggle:
Amberkatze - July 29, 2008 09:19 AM (GMT)
More books to add to my wishlist...

ditto! They're all on there right now! (I added them to my labour-intensive-yet-very-useful googledoc wishlist )
Chapters/Indigo here in Canada is sold out of them (shock! :o ) but I saw them available in Amazon... and B&N has a bunch of them available for clearance price.

And then I went to my library and told them they need to buy the series so I can read it! :giggle: I'm betting they actually will. I'm pretty excited. The Yukon public library is really well funded. More than once I've gone in looking for a book that they didn't have, so they bought it to add to the collection!

And they arrived today! Thanks so much! They look great!
