I have avg and updated to the 8.0. I recently started having problems with opening the interface. After updating I had to restart pc. And when I started pc up again I found I couldn't open up the interface and IE poped up a error message you know send report to Microsoft etc.
Anyways I decided to check on it the next day and had no difference. So I did some research and found that it would be better to custom install and uncheck different things. I can't find the thing now so I'm hoping I did it right. But had to reinstall avg and uninstall it.

My question is if this thing doesn't work this time for me, does anyone know of any other free download for a program. Some of them are free trail but I'm looking for a free download. I figured I should update and not go back to the 7.5 since it seemed to be so long to scan

Sorry it wasn't working for you. I'm using AVG 8.0 with no problems so far, knock on wood.

After putting the new AVG 8.0 in again seems to be working ok now. I'm just keeping fingers crossed :::xxx:::

I've just gotten rid of AVG as I wasn't happy with the new changes. Did some research and switched to avast and have been very happy with it!

Ok I'll keep that one in mind if AVG acts up on me again :unsure:
