I'm having a doubt abou the mists of avalon, I had it in portuguese and they are separedted in 4 different books. som time ago I loaned the first book to someone and It got lost (meaning I'm not sure who borrowed it, always thogth it was my unt, but she says it wasn't).

well Ialways thougth one day i'll buy the first book, but now there is a new editon, different of what I have, not only its uglier as I dont want to have 1 book differnt from the rest.

well my point is I thougth it was probllably better to buy it in english, but now I only see one book and I'm kind of confused. :bash:

Yep. Only in Portugal do we separate a single book in volumes to spare the poor non-literary people from hundreds of pages. Or is it so the publishers can make more of a profit by selling a four-volume series rather than a single book (albeit a HUGE single book).

Buy the english version, Butterfly. The Portuguese translation isn't very perfect and you may even pay less for an english version of the complete book than for the first portuguese translation volume!

I know the portugiese editors have that nasty habit, but I dint knew that was the case in the midts.

anyway did you see the new covers for mzb ? I know the old diferl covers werent very appeling but the new ones are so ugly.


(and I was more confused because of the abrangided audiobooks editions that have the volumes separate)

Just so you gals don't feel bad, here in Quebec, (and probably in France, too, since many of our French edition books come from there) books are printed in more than 1 volume. There have been times where I wanted the translation of a book I really like, so I can practice my French reading, but I find 2-4 volumes instead of the 1, and they are definitely more expensive.

boo indeed. It's hard to fin dFrench books around here... it seems to be getting a little easier (esp. children's books) for some reason, but I rarely read French anymore and I'm so out of practice! I don't speak Portuguese beyond like, "thankyou," but I think it's almost impossible to find Portuguese books in my city.... although, we do have a huge Portuguese community in Cambridge, thus several little Portuguese stores. And a monument.... and a Portuguese flag in Queen's Square (which is where the monument is)...

I've never read the Mists of Avalon in any language :-s I really don't even know what it's about, although I feel that I probably should...
