Xeyra! Start us off! Who's Fantastic Reveal would you like?

Xeyra - June 27, 2008 11:50 PM (GMT)
Wow, I'm first! Now, what to do. Must think hard on all the choices I have. :P

If you all don't mind, and since official start time is only until tomorrow, I'm going to start playing only when I get up in the morning. If I ask for a reveal right now, I'm bound to be robbed and I can't stay up much longer. I'm completely exhausted.

So, good night!

elsi - June 28, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)
I'm here. Glad Xeyra didn't want to start early 'cause I still need to pick a book and send out my reveal. I do have reveals from KathyB and Shaunie which I won't look at -- but I will wonder about. Also have to package books to mail, update my reading list, etc.

shaunesay - June 28, 2008 12:10 AM (GMT)
I need to mail books too. The free concert I was going to tonight got canceled due to inclement weather *looks up at sunny sky quizically* So at least I have a bit more time to clean up for friends coming tomorrow and package books. I'm sad it got canceled, but I needed some extra time too, so it's all good. And I'll get to see the Elders in a few weeks at Irish Fest anyway hopefully. *fingers crossed*

KathyB - June 28, 2008 12:46 AM (GMT)
I forgot all about the BCID - Lemonitsa, Elsi, Xeyra, PepperVL - I just sent a new reveal with it added, please use it instead of the earlier one I sent. Sorry about the double message.

PepperVL - June 28, 2008 12:52 AM (GMT)
I'll send out my reveal when I get home - I'm about to head out for the night.

Tomorrow is my company picnic at Kings Island, so I won't be around a lot. I won't be more than 12 hours after my turn, though. :D And I'll have my phone with me, so I'll be reachable (though I doubt I'll actually make a move until I see the reveals).

Lemonitsa - June 28, 2008 04:13 AM (GMT)
ok. so I've been looking around Facebook for the past few hours.... I finally got sucked in this afternoon!

I'm going to prepare my reveal right now. Kathy, I got your second message, no problem :)

lastly, I'll be home tomorrow around 3pm my time, 2pm central. I hope my turn doesn't come up before then. I couldn't get off work early. (they think I have enough books so I shouldn't be playing anyway. What do they know!)

:giggle:

PepperVL - June 28, 2008 05:25 AM (GMT)

I'm a little bit tipsy, I think. (And upset because we only have beer smileys. :yuck:)

teachie - June 28, 2008 08:23 AM (GMT)
Kathyb thanks for reminding me about sending the bcid, I had forgotten to put it in my reveal as well. I will send it out again with the bcid this time, as soon as I get back from the gym. If the game starts in the meantime and my reveal is asked for I will add it when I get back.

Xeyra - June 28, 2008 08:39 AM (GMT)
Teachie, good morning!! Since you're around, don't you want to start us off with your reveal? :)

ETA: Teachie seems to have left for the gym but since everyone else is still asleep, I'll wait for her to come back and reveal herself. :)

shaunesay - June 28, 2008 12:30 PM (GMT)
My reveal doesn't have the BCID in it either, I'll register it after I'm revealed and just put it in a separate post in the reveal thread. :)

Xeyra - June 28, 2008 12:39 PM (GMT)
The official start time is going to be soon, I think, so if teachie doesn't peek in soonish, I have her reveal so I'll use it (BCID or not). :)

teachie - June 28, 2008 12:56 PM (GMT)
The sword and the satchel by Elizabeth Boyer

Kilgore had long dreamed of great adventures and magic. But when he alone proved able to draw the magic sword Kildurin, he found himself embroiled in more than he had wanted. With the aid of a crotchety old wizard, he set out for the far north across lands beset with trolls, frost giants, dark elves, and all the minions of dark sorcery. It was his duty to find and destroy the evil wizard Surt, who was threatening to bring never-ending darkness and eternal winter to the land of Skarpsey.

This is a very enjoyable stand alone fantasy tale.

Throne of Jade (Temeraire # 2) by Naomi Novik

When Britain intercepted a French ship and its precious cargo–an unhatched dragon’s egg–Capt. Will Laurence of HMS Reliant unexpectedly became master and commander of the noble dragon he named Temeraire. As new recruits in Britain’s Aerial Corps, man and dragon soon proved their mettle in daring combat against Bonaparte’s invading forces.

Now China has discovered that its rare gift, intended for Napoleon, has fallen into British hands–and an angry Chinese delegation vows to reclaim the remarkable beast. But Laurence refuses to cooperate. Facing the gallows for his defiance, Laurence has no choice but to accompany Temeraire back to the Far East–a long voyage fraught with peril, intrigue, and the untold terrors of the deep. Yet once the pair reaches the court of the Chinese emperor, even more shocking discoveries and darker dangers await.

Black Powder War (Temeraire # 3) by Naomi Novik

After their fateful adventure in China, Capt. Will Laurence of His Majesty’s Aerial Corps and his extraordinary dragon, Temeraire, are waylaid by a mysterious envoy bearing urgent new orders from Britain. Three valuable dragon eggs have been purchased from the Ottoman Empire, and Laurence and Temeraire must detour to Istanbul to escort the precious cargo back to England. Time is of the essence if the eggs are to be borne home before hatching.

Yet disaster threatens the mission at every turn–thanks to the diabolical machinations of the Chinese dragon Lien, who blames Temeraire for her master’s death and vows to ally herself with Napoleon and take vengeance. Then, faced with shattering betrayal in an unexpected place, Laurence, Temeraire, and their squad must launch a daring offensive. But what chance do they have against the massed forces of Bonaparte’s implacable army?

nimrodiel - June 28, 2008 01:47 PM (GMT)
oh, thats a good series - I don't mind being stolen from as I own these

Xeyra - June 28, 2008 01:48 PM (GMT)
Well, for a change, at least this will be one reveal of Nessa I won't be fighting for since I already have those in my TBR. :P

Now is that soy cream???????

yep, I get soy milk, because I'm lactose intolerant, and this way I can drink it without taking a lactaid pill, or having any ill effects later! ;) And I can have whip cream too, because that by itself isn't enough to hurt me!

PepperVL - June 28, 2008 02:05 PM (GMT)
Sorry! I had to go shower!

And Xeyra, that's all right - I'd kinda feel cheap if every swap I just tossed my reveal into your m-bag box! :giggle:

I'm off to Kings Island in a few minutes. I likely won't be back until 10 or 11 PM EDT. If I'm stolen from... my phone number is in my signature (highlight the bottom).

It's too early to leave moves. :(

Um... you can email (NOT PM) any new reveals to me and text to let me know I have email, or call me, or if you don't have free long distance, text your name and number to me and I'll call you. (Please note I will not answer the phone while on a roller coaster. :giggle:)

BooksnBeer - June 28, 2008 02:26 PM (GMT)
Good Morning!! Wow - a lotta good books already. I'm around today. I'll check in throught out the day. :pirate: I feel the pirate looking over my shoulder.

Xeyra's Reveal
Wildwood Dancing - ARC

by Juliet Marillier

user posted image

Description:
High in the Transylvanian woods, at the castle Piscul Draculi, live five daughters and their doting father. It's an idyllic life for Jena, the second eldest, who spends her time exploring the mysterious forest with her constant companion, a most unusual frog. But best by far is the castle's hidden portal, known only to the sisters. Every Full Moon, they alone can pass through it into the enchanted world of the Other Kingdom. There they dance through the night with the fey creatures of this magical realm.

But their peace is shattered when Father falls ill and must go to the southern parts to recover, for that is when cousin Cezar arrives. Though he's there to help the girls survive the brutal winter, Jena suspects he has darker motives in store. Meanwhile, Jena's sister has fallen in love with a dangerous creature of the Other Kingdom--an impossible union it's up to Jena to stop.

When Cezar's grip of power begins to tighten, at stake is everything Jena loves: her home, her family, and the Other Kingdom she has come to cherish. To save her world, Jena will be tested in ways she can't imagine--tests of trust, strength, and true love.

:pm: to juliako

shaunesay - June 28, 2008 03:36 PM (GMT)
I'm not terribly certain of juliako's status currently. I did PM with some pointers yesterday, and had not gotten any kind of message back, and I did just pm again now. has anyone received juliako's reveal?

Anyway, pm has been sent, and I said to either pm me with questions, or feel free to post them in the thread, which would probably get a faster answer since it's tot he group at large!! :giggle:

Off to continue the cleaning quest!

BooksnBeer - June 28, 2008 03:49 PM (GMT)
:peek: Looking in - I did see Juliako peek in earlier. When is the stealing going to start.... :pirate:
