I'm heading out soon to take my oldest daughter to a summer book club meeting. We set it up with some of her friends. They are meeting once a week over the summer and each week is "themed." This week is about animals so each kid read a book about animals and did a little "report."

It should be fun 'cuz it keeps them reading and they get to hang out with their friends.

The first book club meeting this afternoon was a huge success! There were four girls and a number of siblings. The theme was animals. Each girl had read an animal-related book and had done a little book report. They shared their reports with each other and talked about the books that they had read. They played with the rabbits at the house, ran through the sprinklers, had snacks and played two animal-related games. It was fantastic!

So, our little summer book club is off to a good start. :bananadance:
