Cathy's Book
Things weren’t so peachy in Cathy’s life before Victor broke up with her. Her father died unexpectedly, she’s failing school, and her best friend is mad at her. But when Cathy decides to investigate Victor’s reasons for ending their relationship, things suddenly go from bad to very, very, very bad as her findings produce more questions than answers. For instance, what does the death of Victor’s co-worker, the strange mark that appeared on Cathy’s arm, and the surreal behavior of several Chinese elders have to do with it? Through Cathy’s unique and irresistible voice-and lots of proof in the form of letters, photographs, date book entries, telephone numbers readers can call, websites they can access, as well as secrets only a careful reader will be able to decipher-readers will enter a strange and fascinating world where things often aren’t how they appear.
personal note: I am an absolute sucker for a gimmick, I admit it. I bought allllllll the Griffin & Sabine books just 'cause the book format was like a collection of letters. When I saw a little hardcover book that had a whole envelope full of "evidence" and pages full of sketches and handwritten notes surrounding the story's text, I knew I was going to buy the book. Turns out the book I was holding is the sequel to this, though, so I had to buy this one first! this edition is soft cover, and only slightly less cool in that the evidence is not in its own little envelope, but rather in color photo pages.... but I had to buy it 'cause they didn't have the hardcover of the first book in stock :lol:

No problem. Starting on Tuesday is a bit wierd anyway, but I like having it on the same date each month.
PS - I like gimmicky things too. Cathy's Book is one I bought right after it came out. One because of the name (too bad it wasn't a "K" Kathy) and two because of the gimmack :giggle:
