Just curious which one you would vote for among this list and why - I'm not in a cozy mystery mood so didn't list any of those. I think I;ll be happy reading any of these but which one would you pick?
thanks!

I chose Turtle Moon by Alice Hoffman. I loved that book. She writes some good ones. :)

I picked The Bookshop because it is so short. :)

I'm only familiar with one and that's The Reader - which it seems a lot of people really liked, but I detested, I count it among the worst books I've ever read.....
I choose Julia's Chocolates - just for the name! ;)

I haven't read any of them, but of all the ones listed, I have read other books by Iain Banks, so I picked that one. :)

I've just gotten "The Reader" from June BallySwappers and I've been wanting to read it for some time. That is why I chose it.

Never heard of any of them, but I chose the Turtle one because of our very own Turtle here :)

I voted for The Reader by Bernhard Schlink and Julia's Chocolates by Cathy Lamb... I really loved both of them!

I voted for the two that I've read -- The Reader and The Bookshop.
Both of these are short, simple-seeming books that, at least for me, just filled a very nice niche: a book that left me thinking about the characters, but that wasn't too deeply layered. I probably liked The Reader slightly more than The Bookshop.
Neither of these would be on any of my lists of "bests," but both were solid, quick reads.

Thanks everyone, I enjoy reading your comments.
For a while Turtle Moon was ahead but I see The Reader has caught up.

ditto... and just because I thought it was an interesting name.

Never heard of any of them either but I chose Julia's Chocolates because of the name too. It's got chocolate so it should be good. :P
