Welcome to Round 2 of the European VBB!

The Rules:

(1) I will post a list of books and the order of the box participants on the first of every other month.

(2) Each person may take as many books out of the box as they want; however, you must put in the same number of books. This means that you may be responsible for shipping the number of books that you have put in. You control how many books you are willing to ship by only taking out/putting in that number of books. Even if you drop out of the box, you'll still need to keep replacing your books until they've all been selected.

(3) Each person will be expected to mail their books that were selected within six months.

(4) Play may continue perpetually. You can choose to skip your turn by not taking any books out of the box and passing the turn on to the next person.

(5) The box will be run on a bi-monthly basis, starting on the 1st of the month (April, June, August, October, December, February)

(6) Every, any, and all books can be put in the box! Fiction, Nonfiction, whatever! However, any books not taken after 2 rounds will be replaced by the person who put the book in. (Asterisks are used to indicate how many rounds a book has been in the bookbox.) To Be Reads are okay but should be marked as such!

(7) You have 48 hours from the time the person before you posts their move in the thread to make your move. If you haven't made your move in that amount of time, you may be moved to the end of the list.

(8) New participants are welcome and can join at any time! If we are in the middle of a round, they will be added to the end of the list. If we are between rounds, they will be randomized into the list like everyone else.

(9) The list of participants will be randomized at the end of every other round.

(10) Once you've taken your turn, please PM the next person to let them know it's their turn. If you can't PM them for some reason, please say so when you post your move, so someone else can!

In passing I recommend Lady Oracle which I already own - (and of course I recommend The Romance Reader which is a fascinating story about the daughter of an orthodox rabbi...)

I should mention that in August I'll be away until the 9th. I may have e-mail access from abroad, but I'm not sure. I'll try to send a heads-up some time in July to say if it's going to be a problem or not. At anyrate I'll be back home on the 9th or 10th. :wave:

I didn't really see the need for the asterisks as I am keeping the books from each round seperate - next round there will be another set of books which will say 'From two rounds ago - must be replaced'. If they were all muddled together, yes I would use asterisks but I don't see it is really necessary.

Hi there. Can I play in the next round.
Yesterday it was my turn in the Historical Fiction VBB and that was when it hit me that it was not fair.
Why? what happened? Well nothing, besides the fact that I would have loved to offer much better ,more popular books but because of the high rate, no surface mail anymore outside of Europe, I could only offer books not heavier than 250 gram including envelope, and those were not the ones I wanted to offer.

But I did take 2 good books. so I just did not feel good. If I would use a book above 250 grams it would cost me more than 15.00 dollars and that is too much to send a secondhand book don't you agree? .

Morsie has removed me out of the HF VBB I will only have to replace. so to make a long story short. Can I join ?

Of course Marlene - we'd love to have you join us.
