As for the crazy Dutchie's questions...

He started walking at 10 months and is pretty stable these days, with only the occasional stumble. Of course, that means I need to keep a nearly constant watch on him! As soon as we moved into our new place a couple of weeks ago, he went around all the built-in cabinets and pulled and twisted each one until he figured out how to work the locks! He is a very determined and curious boy!

He is also a mama's boy and is most content when I am holding him. This makes doing most anything else pretty difficult, so we are working on building a little independence! :wacko: It doesn't help that Jay is away on business trips 5 days a week for the next couple months as part of the new job. Lots of "mommy and me" time for Makaio! I've been trying to get out to shops, the library, the park, grandma and grandpa's, anywhere really so that he and I don't drive each other mad! :lol:

He has a couple favorite toys. For play times he is really into a musical instument set he got for his birthday. He loves the cymbals, a clacker thing and the triangle especially. During quieter times, he snuggles with a favorite bear or his doll he calls CC. She is a black cabbage patch girl doll he picked out at a flea market several weeks ago. She always sits with him in his carseat too.

He makes me laugh with his little dance moves. The quickest way to distract his crying is to turn on some music and he'll start bobbing up and down and swaying back and forth. Very cute! He also loves to be outside and just discovered how much fun it is to dig in the dirt today. Looks like more baths will be needed (or maybe his lazy mama will just take him to the pool!) :giggle:

His favorite book is still Brown Bear Brown Bear, though he loved looking at a book we have of baby faces as well. He also like to flip the pages in Mama's book!

Marlene, you are welcome to come on over and enjoy this toddler time whenever you want! Makaio really should meet his crazy Dutch auntie!
