I'm trying to change my avatar and it's telling I can't do it, but its how I did it back in Jan. What is going on.

Your avatar must be no bigger than 150 pixels by 150 pixels in size. Uploaded avatars from your computer must be no larger than 25 KB.

I usually find it doesn't change automatically but if I come back the next day it'll be changed. :shrug:

You need to check the file size then. It may be too big. :(

or it might be an unallowed file type -- does BookObsessed permit .gif files for avatars, etc? Or is it just .jpg and .img files?

You need to convert your image to one of the following - .gif .jpeg .jpg .png .bmp
Anything beside those and you will get that error message. I'm betting its a PhotoShop file. If you don't have a graphics program to resave it as one those files, let me know and I'll see what I can to to help you out.

The following file types are allowed: .gif .jpeg .jpg .png .bmp
For example my avatar is 100x100 11.33 KB and it's a .gif

when i try to get it up it says jpg at the end
