Title: OMG I can't stop crying.

terra57 - May 2, 2008 03:33 AM (GMT)
This is a long story but I'll try and shorten it a bit.

My dad died in November from Adrenial cancer. Well, before he went in the hospital for his operation in September we had a conversation one day when I was babysitting him. We were afraid to leave him alone as he was really scared. Anywho, my dad said he was really upset cause he hadn't bought my mom any birthday, anniversary or Christmas presents in years because they just didn't have the money. I told him that there was still time after he got out of the hospital to get something before Christmas would arrive. Little did we know the cancer was terminal. I felt so bad and dad and I cried for quite some time but made a pledge to go get mom something really special after he was feeling better. Well that never happened as he didn't make it.

Okay now down to today.

My mom got a call from BJ's Wholesale Club close by here asking for Mr. Clark. She informed them that he passed away in November and they responded that they had a purchase that he made last year and it was still in their safe. They informed her that they have been trying to get in touch since before Christmas but to no avail until today. So mom and I took a ride to BJ's and went to the Service desk and explained the call. They asked us to wait a bit. The manager came to us about 15 minutes later and apologized for not getting in touch sooner and that it was their mistake. He had in his hand a small box.
After some small chit chat the manager handed the box to my mom and said that if she'd like he would gladly give her a check for the money and put the item back out for sale. She opened the box and inside was a diamond, sapphire, emerald and ruby ring with a note Merry Christmas I Love You, Clint. We both stood there in shock and then started cryiing and have been crying since. My dad had somehow bought this for mom without us knowing. It was the biggest surprise as you can imagine.
He must be up in Heaven watching us to make sure my Mom got that last very special present that he wanted so badly for her to have. We love him and miss him so much and I'm sure you can understand now why I can't stop crying.

Oh, Terra, that is the sweetest story. (And I can't stop crying now, either.) Your dad must have been a really special man to do this for your mom.

Thanks everyone for being here. I love all of you.

One thing I forgot to put in there was mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary was October 27th and he was awake but hooked up to so many tubes that he couldn't talk. Anywho they were together for the day which I know for mom is something she'll never forget. They had a rare true love that is hard to come by.

OMG, here I go again. Sorry to make everyone cry but I had to share. You guys are my family too!
