A huge Thank you to my MayDay partner Lemonista!!!!

I just opened my package and it was lovely! I am too tired to go into detail right now and my boyfriend thinks I am mad for staying up so late as it is ;)

I will update my post in the morning with a photo!

I hope everyone else has fun opening their packages!

Xeyra - April 30, 2008 10:11 PM (GMT)

Just opened mine. I got a wishlist book (The Well of Lost Plots) , an audiobook (Short Stories), a cat pencil, a cat notepad, gummibears, BC stickers and a marker and vanilla incense stick.

The books were beautifully wrapped and there was a lovely card from my great partner Potok-fan (I guessed right who you are! :D )

THANK YOU so much, Ruth!!! A wonderful package!!

I will try to take and post a foto tomorrow. Am too tired now and will go to bed...

I've just opened my package...

... and am too sleepy to post about it. I'll do it tomorrow.

NOT!

I opened my package in the living room because my parents were as curious as I was and practically demanded I bring it there. They're like kids!!

I'll post pictures later, when I'm more awake, but right now I can say that I received a box filled with lovely wrapped little packages containing the following:

The Dead Rivers Trilogy by Naomi Kritzer :bananadance:
user posted image user posted image user posted image

Plus a gorgeous candle holder, some sandalwood candles (I love this scent!), honeysuckle bath products (what exactly is body butter, by the way? :giggle: ), an absolutely gorgeous bookmark, a pumice stone and a package of delicious chocolate covered popcorn and almond mix, something I have never seen in Portugal. My parents have run away with them, by the way. Worse than children, I tell you!!!

And who is my May Day partner, you ask?

None other than the wonderful ZOSIME. Poor woman, she already had the ungrateful task of being my partner for our previous swap and now she got me again. :P And yet she managed to make me as happy as last time. Thank you so much for the absolutely lovely package, dear!

The same thing happens at my house. There have been times where I need to slap their hands away! It's incredible how nosey and greedy they can be!!
But at the same time, it is the cutest thing!!!

 It's still SEVEN HOURS 'til midnight here. I will have to fill the time with reading.

I've dropped my daughter at school and now can sit down with a drink and open my package.

Plus some Bookcrossing Bookplates (#22)
some Lindt Dark Chocolate Truffles - Yum! I will be hiding this from the kids and hubby
a Halvah bar - I have never seen one of these before so I'm looking forward to giving it a try
a Book Bungee - I've never seen one of these before either, it might stop the kids from pulling my bookmark out of my books.
and also some Bookcrossing wings (which I have already enjoyed for the past 2 weeks)

A huge THANK YOU to my May Day Partner MSJOANNA

 I'm so glad you enjoyed your package! You're fun to shop for. I had just broken down and bought myself the third Dead Rivers book when we got our swap assignments, so I was overjoyed to have an excuse to read it right away. :giggle:

Body butter is just a really thick creamy lotion. I like to put it on my legs right after a bath. Don't try to eat it though, it's not like chocolate body paint. ;)

needmorezoloft - May 1, 2008 02:34 AM (GMT)
AUGH!! It's just sitting there taunting me... I swear I can hear it.

I had to run and get my iPod... So far Sweeney Todd soundtrack is half ass drowning out the screams from the package. Every now and then I can hear it yell, "OPEN ME".. I haven't started screaming back yet... but it's tempting. (2.5 hrs left for me)

(Turning up Sweeney Todd now!)

zosime - May 1, 2008 05:02 AM (GMT)
Is it midnight? I think it's midnight. I am going to open my box. :boogie:

Oh! Everhthing is wrapped up in such pretty flowered paper. There is a card right on top, but I will open it last.

The first thing I have unwrapped is a cloth bookcover. So cute! It is purple with all sorts of colorful designs on it.

Next I find a wonderful smelling bag of vanilla pecan potpourri. So this is why the box smelled so nice when I opened it! I thought my mind was playing tricks on me because of the pretty flowery wrapping paper. :giggle:

And here is a dark chocolate bunny! His name is "Carrot Patch Pete." Adorable and yummy! Underneath the bunny I can now see that there is loose candy in the box, and a cute pencil with flowers and chicks on it. That explains the rattling . . . not that I would shake a package.

Ah, now I think this is what I smelled when I opened the box! It's a wine and rose scented candle in a pretty red jar.

A container of sprinkles! Perfect for cupcakes!

Another candle, this one is beautiful white and silver.

A Vanilla Milk moisturizing body bar. Yum.

Zinnia seeds! I can't wait to find a place to plant these. I'm trying to learn how to garden now that I have a yard.

More candy! A box of chocolate Sweethearts. I didn't even know these came in chocolate!

A very pretty ribbon with little flowers on it.

More Sweethearts! These ones are "tarts" Maybe my partner is trying to tell me something?

And now for the books! My partner has sent me not one, but two Janet Evanovich books! One for the Money and Four to Score. Thank you so much! Mom got me hooked on these, but I'm afraid I've been reading to them all out of order. It's nice to get some of the gaps filled in!

And now for the card, which is absolutely adorable with a little bear and a sunflower on it. My fabulous partner is . . . BunnyLady! Thank you so much for everything!   You have certainly spoiled me.

Now I must get to bed. I'll try to get a picture posted in the morning. Goodnight everyone!

A really lovely note from ramson - much appreciated!

A Mary Engelbreit bar of soap that reads "Forget Love! I'd rather fall in chocolate!"

Two very cute bookmarks - you can never have too many bookmarks, right?

Some Mary Engelbreit notecards that read "Success consists of getting up once oftener than you fall down." - I do love Mary Engelbreit things!! and I don't think I mentioned that on my wishlist...

Two bags of Russell Stover chocolates - one is Triple Chocolate Mousse, the other Vanilla Bean Brulee - YUM!

You're welcome! I hope you count the audio book as a wishlist book too, since your Cliff's list says "any audiobook in English or Swedish".

But :duh: I did a foolish thing when I registered the book (I know there's debate about whether to register them in advance or not, but I want to be a part of the history and see future JEs, so I do register) - I didn't want you spotting what it was (especially since I wasn't too careful about hiding my identity on the envelope  ), so I just registered it as "Secret", but now I can't find the details! :dunce: :whip: I hope you won't mind PMing me the title and details so I can re-do it properly.

Anyway, it was fun shopping for you.

Happy reading/listening.

I opened my package late last night (around 1am), but my husband was using the computer and I was too tired to wait for him to finish to post about it...

I got a wonderful package:

First, the wishlist book:
user posted image

The cute thing about this book is that it started with a BOer, then was passed to someone else, then went to my partner as part of another BO exchange. Awesome.

Second, a package of yummy looking Organic tea. This looks wonderful.

Third, several packages of spice mixes for salsa and dip. :yum:

Fourth, a jar of tapenade made from artichokes, olives, bell peppers and other tasty stuff. I'm going to be eating well...

Fifth, a package of Old-Fashioned licorice hard candies. These look great. I'm actually annoyed that I forgot to bring them to work with me today.

Sixth, a lovely handmade bookstring.

Finally, a nice card from my terrific partner, cowgirl-up.

Thanks so much for the great package.

Well, this one just went onto my wishlist. I didn't know that Dallas had another book out.

Marlene - May 1, 2008 06:05 PM (GMT)
yes Elsi. I have read 2 of her books so far and this is going to be my third. loved the first 2.

Sunny. Rowena met her father last year for the first time. We went to see him and his parents, (we are Rowena, my parents and me) before we arrived, we had to stop the car, cause she felt she was going to be sick.

It was really scary, for me too, (My hands were shaking so much this morning before I left) very emotional but it did go well.

So this was the first time he was at her birthday. He is very quiet and normally that makes me nervous, but this time, I was clam and accepted that. Rowena seemed to have a lot of fun and all went well. I think Jeroen was happy to be there. (My parents know him from back in the days when he was my boyfriend)

When I left only Rowena's friends were there (and my parents and some more friends would come later)
She was wearing the dress I bought her. :bananadance:
(My dad made a picture of us 3, Rowena and her "parents" )
