I will be in Richmond the week of May 5. Though I have plans for the night of the 7th, I could meet with folks in the vicinity one other evening -- maybe as far away as DC or Baltimore. Anyone interested in trying to get together?

Well, darn! I have to be in Richmond Friday, May 9 (from 8 am to about noon -- picking my son up from college and helping him clean his dorm room). I can't come the night before because we have PTA at the school where I work.

Book-buying suggestions: If you're going to be downtown and can find a parking place during finals week at VCU, be sure to check out VCU's Cabell Library book exchange shelf (just outside of Starbucks: great books; I saw Three Cups of Tea there recently). In Carytown (free garage parking in the 3000 block of W. Cary St.) there's Chop Suey books with freebie boxes outside and Plan 9 Records with hard-to-find music books.

Hope you come to Virginia again sometime. So sorry I'll miss you by just one day on this trip.
