Title: Weird happening at Bookcrossing
Description: I was journaling a book
wss4 - April 27, 2008 01:34 PM (GMT)
I was making a journal entry on this book --
The Dead Girl's Danceand noticed that mine was the only entry on it.
I originally got this book from Shawnna but her entry is not there. So I searched for her name and it can not be found.
Does anyone know what happened? I found this when I follow the link to the page of the person who registered this book
http://www.bookcrossing.com/mybookshelf/bc-del-20080219This is the first time I have encountered this and just wondered if this was typical when a member left Bookcrossing.

Shawna mentioned somewhere (Club Vlad?) that she deleted her entire B/C shelf when she got mad over something.
Later she rejoined under the name Fallen Angel, or The Fallen Angel.

Thanks ladiibbug. I did find her under her new name - TheFallenAngel.
I have never thought about what would happen if a member chooses to leave. It could potentially be a mess if they had a lot of books journaled/registered and decided to have all of their info deleted.

That is weird. I can see leaving, but I would leave my account up and maybe leave a note that I was not active anymore. The rest sounds like too much effort.

FYI, Shawnna deleting her shelf alone didn't remove the books. She actually started deleting the books as well around the same time she deleted her shelf, and was then going to re-enter them all under the new shelf. (DON'T ASK!)
But just so you know for future reference, someone deleting their shelf doesn't make all the books they've registered go away too.

Yep, Usually if a shelf is deleted, the books change to being registered by annonymous, and the original users comments stay just as an annonymous entry.
I've had a few books like that come my way before :)

recently a portuguese boockrosser left bc to and her shelf wasnt deleted.
it became used-tube (or sometihng alyke) located somehrer in zimbabwe
I know from another person that she contacted bc suport about leaving the site ant it were them that did the changes. maybe they have a mew politc about deleting acounts.
I thougth that just deleted the user and all the books appeared registered by anonymus
