Cool! Thanks you guys!!! I am enjoying the anticipation. I put them on the window ledge in my dining area so that I don't see them as much. If I had them somewhere where I would see them all the time, it would just be eating away at me. Giving them is just as much fun as well. I love to see when you all open your books. It's kind of like when you were a kid, and you would go to a friends birthday party and sit next to them as they opened their presents. :D

rebeccaljames - April 20, 2008 01:00 AM (GMT)

A Short Synopsis
When Daniel Stone was a child, he was the only white boy in a native Eskimo village where his mother taught, and he was teased mercilessly because he was different. He fought back, the baddest of the bad kids: stealing, drinking, robbing and cheating his way out of the Alaskan bush – where he honed his artistic talent, fell in love with a girl and got her pregnant. To become part of a family, he reinvented himself – jettisoning all that anger to become a docile, devoted husband and father. Fifteen years later, when we meet Daniel again, he is a comic book artist. His wife teaches Dante’s Inferno at a local college; his daughter, Trixie, is the light of his life – and a girl who only knows her father as the even-tempered, mild-mannered man he has been her whole life. Until, that is, she is date raped…and Daniel finds himself struggling, again, with a powerlessness and a rage that may not just swallow him whole, but destroy his family and his future.

Thank you again...I am really looking forward to reading this book.

Book Description:
Cas Perry wants nothing to do with love -- her dad walking out on her mother was quite enough romantic drama, thank you very much. And why should she bother with relationships when she can manipulate just about any man for sex? The steely-hearted TV producer plays with other people's love lives and orchestrates unscripted fireworks on the edgy reality show Sex with an Ex -- a ratings blockbuster that is sending her already-hot career skyrocketing.

Now, the woman who has all the answers meets the man who, for the first time, poses questions other than "buy you a drink?". Stunningly handsome Darren would be a sensation on Sex with an Ex -- and Cas needs him to ensure the show's success. So why is she wining and dining the sexiest man she's ever met -- and talking about family values, marriage, and fidelity? Darren's principles are changing the rules of attraction. And this may be one game Cas won't mind losing....

Thank you Rebecca!!! Hope this was the one from you. I LOVE IT! It's also in great condition too. They all are.

Okay and moving on.....from Candieb in TX. .....another Wishlist book. :bananadance: :bananadance:

PREP by Curis Sittenfeld

Book Description:
Curtis Sittenfeld's sparkling debut is set in an American boarding school, a hotbed of privilege, ambition and neurosis, every bit as snobbish and competitive as anything dreamed up on this side of the Atlantic. Lee Fiora is an intelligent, observant fourteen-year-old when her father drops her off at the prestigious Ault School in Massachusetts; she leaves behind her affectionate family in South Bend, Indiana, her head filled with images from the school's glossy brochure, in which boys in sweaters chat in front of old brick buildings, girls hold lacrosse sticks on pristine athletics fields, and everyone sings hymns in chapel. As Lee soon learns, Ault is quite unlike anything she has previously experienced, a self-enclosed world populated by jaded teenagers whose expectations, values and social rituals are utterly unfamiliar to her. At first an observer of, then a participant in the hyper-vigilant, intricately demarcated life of the school, Lee eventually finds her own place in the pecking order - until a single act of spontaneous folly shatters her carefully honed identity. "Prep" is a sharp and lucid portrait of the pain and the excitement of adolescence, and a remorseless dissection of privilege and class in the cradle of the American establishment.

Awesome, thank you so much. I love trade size paperbacks too.

Book Description:
Penelope Wilhern is born into a family of rich socialites that is afflicted by a secret curse: her disfigurement (a pig nose) will only be cured when she finds a willing suitor to take her hand in marriage. Her parents subject her to a string of blue-blooded bachelors in their attempt to marry her off, and each suitor is enamoured with Penelope and her sizable dowryuntil the curse is revealed.

And the other one is: can't get this image to post, for some reason......
BLED DRY by Erin McCarthy

Book Description:
Hooking up with a vampire has its risks-but getting pregnant usually isn't one of them. Tell that to Brittany Baldizzi, who finds herself in the family way with no father in sight. After their one night of passion, vampire Corbin Jean Michel disappeared off the face of the earth-or at least off the Vegas strip.

Corbin is a vampire with a cause, secretly trying to find a cure for his condition. But when he finds out Brittany is pregnant with his child, Corbin can't keep his paternal instincts from trumping his bloodsucking ones. Even when showing his hand could cost him the woman he can't help but love.
:vampire2: :vampire2: :vampire2: Thank you SOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!

Thank you to EVERYONE in this swap for the awesome books. This is the first time I have ever done this type of thing, and I am loving every minute of it! I had alot of fun opening them, it was like Christmas but WAY better. My kids usually make out way better than me on Christmas, so this was my little book Christmas/Birthday celebration in a way. I keep telling my family that I like books (you would think it would be easy for them on holidays for gift giving) but I rarely get any as gifts.....so on that NOTE.....THANKS FOR MAKING MY DAY :D

candieb - May 2, 2008 04:49 AM (GMT)

Booksforever - May 14, 2008 04:56 PM (GMT)
Hi Kim,
Yes...it came a couple of days ago.

Here is what I received from Kim: user posted image

Our story begins with the three Fortune sisters,Deidre(Dee),Elizabeth(Lizzie) and Moira(Mare),who are trying to live quiet lives in the small town of Salem's Fork. Their neighbors know them as the O'Briens, due to the Dee's determination that their Aunt Xantippe doesn't find them, along with anyone else interested in the offspring of the once famous TV psychic couple,Phil and Fiona Fortune, who died under mysterious circumstances before going being sent to jail for fraud. The Fortune sisters also have another big secret to hide, the fact that they can all do magic.

Their abilities are great but their control over them is not;Dee is a shapeshifter whose bad luck in love is partly due to morphing into the mother of any guy she makes out with. Lizzie can transform items but when she's nervous, the flatware multiplies into bunnies and when aroused, gorgeous shoes appear out of nowhere. Mare is able to move objects with her mind but has to be careful when she gets too hot and bothered or she might literally make the earth move under her feet.

Aunt Xan does know where her nieces are and decides to trick them into giving her their powers by making them an offer they can't refuse, their True Loves. All at once, three strangers come into town and wind up sweeping the Fortunes off their feet. Dee gets Danny James,a researcher for a well known fantasy writer looking to expose the senior Fortunes as fakes for his venture into nonfiction. Lizzie encounters Elfric,a sorceror who wants her to stop disrrupting the balance of the universe with her attempts to change straw into gold.

Mare, however,is not interested in Jude, the VP from Value Video!! who wants to give her a big promotion that would take her to New York. She's more intrigued about her old boyfriend Crash, who has returned to town after getting into a motorcycle accident with Mare five years ago. That puts a spoke into the wheels of Aunt Xan's plot along with Xan's goofy helper Maxine who is as subtle as a brick in spying on the blossoming romances of the sisters.

This book looks REALLY good! Did you like it Kim?? Thank you VERY much!

:D
