They won the NCAA Championship! It's been 20 years since the last time they did it!

Yay!!!!!!!!!! Rock Chalk, Jayhawk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bananacheer:

As Shaunie knows I grew up in Kansas. One of my brothers graduated from KU. I remember the last time KU won. Has it been 20 years really? I'm getting old!

ETA:
It's the NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP in BASKETBALL. NCAA is National Collegiate Athletic Association. And KU is University of Kansas. :giggle:

And the Jayhawk is KU's mascot. It's a fictional bird. user posted image

I know, but it's March, so it's obvious which Championship it is! Ya know, March Madness, the sweet sixteen, the elite eight, the final four... the BIG dance! :giggle:

I'm not a sports person, but I am excited when my own school wins something!

I know, I can't believe it's been 20 years either. the last one was about 3 years before I got there, and now this one is a smidgeon over 10 years since I left!

And he's such a happy fictional bird! Look at him grinnin'!

As a U of M (or Memphis State as it was called in my day) graduate, all I can say is...

I sowwy  It was a great game, if only both sides could win! I would have been happy for Memphis if they had won too, since it would have been the first one ever, is that right? We won our important game, against Roy and his new boys, I think we really needed that as a confidence builder after the way he about faced on us! And he never got us a Championship win! :bananadance: Go Coach Self!

Thanks Shaunie!
I didn't even watch for fear of jinxing them. Last time I watched they lost their first game of the season to UofT. :o My co-workers forbid me to watch after that. :P
I was pulling for them in spirit.
And yes it would have been their first time to win it if they had. The last time they made it to the final two was back in the 70's. They made it to the final 4 in 1985 when I was going there.

I'm not much of a sports fan either. But like you, I try to be supportive when they're doing good.

What is this basket ball of which you speak? Is that that game where they all need to pull up their shorts? Something to watch during the hockey strike?

What's this hockey you speak of? Doesn't have something to do with ice? We don't have any of that around here. :giggle:

Since I'm not really from Kansas, I'm not really dancing in my chair. HOWEVER, we did win the rights to wear jeans to work today & tomorrow so WOOO! (our corporate office is in Memphis. heh.)
