Title: USPS question

SciFisstrs - April 3, 2008 05:44 AM (GMT)
A while ago before Christmas I believe my daughter got this cd in the mail from the PO. I think I read it was software for postage. The only other tools I would need would be a scale. Now Meg doesn't do anything like Matt and I do so she gave it to me.

I had the cd for awhile but I think it got thrown away. I was going to read up on it again and try to get the materials for it.

I was wondering if anyone has used something like this? I don't think it was stamps.com
Anyone have any options on it?

Stamps.com is one that does that, but I don't know specifically which one you received because there are more out there. You could check the usps.com site and see if they list any. I think usps does their own online now if you ship Priority Mail.

Sorry, :( , I've been using Paypal multi shipping option to print postage.

As Mysterious said, you can now use PayPal as well and I think it's free. But besides Stamps.com, there's also Endicia, who is what I use and like much better than Stamps.com.

I've used both Stamps.com and Endicia and converted over to Endicia from Stamps.com. It's a little harder to use initially as it's more powerful, so better for power users, but some of the things I appreciated about it was (1) there was a yearly billing option which you could get at a discount over the monthly rate so no monthly billing which I hate; (2) it's cheaper than Stamps.com; and (3) you can create your own label layouts and designs.

If you decide to check out Endicia, feel free to use my # 586575 as a referral. (I'll get a month's free credit for referring you if you decide to stay after your 30 days.) Stamps.com also has a 30 day free trial option as well if you feel like comparing the two.

Here's the 2 links where you can buy and print postage through PayPal if you prefer to go that route:

Thank you Cherie and everyone. I'll talk it over with Matt since he helps me in so many things.
I'll probably not get it right away, but I'll let you know how we make out :)

You're welcome Sheila!

I wonder if Ann might want to pipe up here as well. I know she was trying out Endicia recently as well (as she's a longtime Stamps.com user), but I'm not sure which way she eventually leaned towards. I'm thinking she kind of liked Stamps.com for it's simplicity. Though as I said, with that simplicity comes a little bit more of limits on what you can do and how freely you can design your labels, etc. But if you don't want to be overwhelmed with options, then Stamps.com is definitely simpler.

FYI, Endicia is also the underlying provider that PaperBackSwap now uses for their own postage service.

I'm actually using both. I don't really care for the Endicia user interface...it isn't very straight forward but it does allow you to ship internationally much easier. I use it for International shipping only.

I use stamps.com for all of my other mailing. The interface is much more straight-forward and easier to use.
