Title: US 2003/Newer VBB .... Round 2
Description: Starts April 1st

BunnyLady - March 27, 2008 02:58 PM (GMT)
Here's the ending info from the 1st round:

2003 or Newer VBB (US ONLY),
ROUND 1 - February 2008
ROUND 2 - April 2008

Box Guidelines:
*If you owe books from more than 6 months ago, you should refrain from taking any new books out of the box until you've first caught up those past due obligations. (Books owed from less than 6 months ago, with m-bag organizers, or for which other arrangements have been made don't count towards this limit.)
*Turn time is 2 full days, or 48 hours, from the time the update announcing the player's turn is posted. If you are going to be away or otherwise inaccessible when your turn comes up, please let me know so that I can put a note by your name and your absence will not be treated as a "no-show" (see below).
*If the full 48 hours has passed with no word from the player, then the next player will take their turn. Do this for the next 3 players following the missing player, and if they still haven't checked in by then, they'll be bumped to the bottom of the list. This will become their new permanent spot until the list is reshuffled. (next re-shuffle will be Round 3 - June 2008)
*At the start of each round, an * is placed in front of each title still in the box to track how long it's been in. If a book you've put in isn't taken after 2 complete rounds (**), you must replace it with a different one on your next turn.
*The Box Organizer will be the official time keeper and determine a skip or bottom placement.
*New players will be accepted during play and added to the bottom of the list.
On Your Turn:
*Select the books that you want to take out of the box and list them in your post.
*Replace with the same number of books (or more) and link to the BookCrossing journal pages for each book(s).
*If any of your books have "**" in front of them, they must be replaced now as well.
*If you want to skip your turn, you have the option to be placed at the bottom of the list for another try this round. If you do this, it will become your new permanent spot until the next list reshuffle. (Reshuffling happens every round.)
*If you are willing and able to do the update, please do so. Before posting, verify that you've (1) listed your move in the Moves section, (2) added to the list of books the ones you're putting in, (3) removed from the list of books the ones you're taking out or replacing, and (4) listed the books you're taking out in the Books Out of Play section at the bottom, indicating they are going to you. (This is all fairly easy to do with cut and paste so long as you remember all the steps.) If you're new, don't worry about doing updates just yet!
*Please PM the next person to let them know they're up.

I edited the list to add in numbers, just so it's clear where people were if any bumping happens.

SimplyCee - March 27, 2008 08:41 PM (GMT)
I just wanted to add that Mine are Spectacular is no longer TBR. I read it this month since I knew this was coming up soon :D

BunnyLady - March 27, 2008 09:14 PM (GMT)
I wasn't sure where to move the "books new this round" from round 1 to. Do i mix them in alpha'ly with past round books or keep the * and 1st round books separte.

Does what I just said make sense. (my drugs  have making me a bit senseless  )

What I think you need to do is add an * to each of the books.

The books that were new in the last round should now have one * and the ones that were one * should now be two **.

If we're replacing ** books, then the list of "prior round" books should become the list of books needing to be replaced this round. Sometimes with a new box, though, it's a good idea to give the initial books an extra round in the box because some of them may just not have been picked in the first round because folks couldn't take out too many books at once rather than because there was no interest...

Anyway, if we are replacing all the one * books, then you don't need to mix them up because the current one * will become the two ** that need to be replaced anyway.

BunnyLady - March 27, 2008 09:39 PM (GMT)
I put the 1* by the ones listed. They are the original books started in the box. They won't get a 2nd* (**) until the end of this round at which time they would then need to be replaced.

The ones with no *'s have not been offered to every person yet and have not completed a full round so they won't get their 1st * until the end of this coming round.

.....I think! Rosie helped me out bigtime last round!

Oh...I see what you're saying.

Generally, anything that was put in during the last round gets a * even if it hasn't been offered to everyone yet because it was still put in during the last round. But the way you're setting it up makes sense as well -- it's sort of like allowing books to be in for three rounds under the other system.

In that case, I'd be inclined to mix in the no * books with the one * books under the "books from prior rounds" heading and put the newest books in the "new books this round" heading.

Yes, I agree that this is a good way to address this.

Thank you for your assistance ladies.

I will re-arrange the top post now.

BunnyLady - March 27, 2008 10:09 PM (GMT)
How does it look now?

CdnBlueRose - March 28, 2008 01:24 AM (GMT)
Bunnylady, sorry I wasn't online earlier - but it looks like everyone has helped you out and I think the way you have it arranged looks fine! :)

P.S. I just edited it to remove Bibliocrates move from the end of round one... ;)

BunnyLady - March 28, 2008 07:06 PM (GMT)
Thanks so much.

wss4 - March 28, 2008 08:52 PM (GMT)
Okay now that the box looks to be in great shape for us to start, are we firm on waiting till 4/1 or may I jump right in and get us going?

BunnyLady - March 28, 2008 08:55 PM (GMT)
I don't have a problem with starting early if it's OK with everyone else.

BunnyLady - March 28, 2008 08:59 PM (GMT)
Do most organizers allow it to start early?

What is "standard operating procedure"?

:ditto:

ETA: I think people start whenever the new thread gets put up. For the Everybook VBB that I'm taking over, since it's monthly, we try to put up the thread on the 1st of every month so we have the whole month to get through the list, but it usually takes close to the whole month, so don't generally start early. But if it's every other month, I don't see any reason not to start a day or two early if the thread is ready and folks are around. Probably wouldn't bump someone quite as quickly though...

BunnyLady - March 28, 2008 09:05 PM (GMT)
Well in that case.... :bananadance:

Watcha gonna do wss? dont leave us hanging any longer.

Yes, often VBBs start as early as they are posted, but timekeeping does not start until the official start date.

That being said I will take out

Calamity Jayne (2006) by Kathleen Bacus (terrafreaky)

and put in

Bed-and-Breakfast Mystery #19: Hocus Croakus (2003) by Mary Daheim (wss4)

Tried to look at the journal entry for:

and got an error message that this BC number was not valid. Probably needs her to fix that.

Tried to look at the journal entry for:
*A Grave Mistake by Stella Cameron(2005)(BunnyLady)
and got an error message that this BC number was not valid.  Probably needs her to fix that.

Hmmmm ....... Here is a link to that book on Bunnylady's bookshelf, but it looks like it is no longer hers?

2003 or Newer VBB (US ONLY)
ROUND 1 - February 2008
ROUND 2 - April 2008

Bartonz, It's your turn to take books from this box.
