Just to clarify, the basic premise of the Raiding Bookshelves swap is:

When you sign up for the swap, you say if you want to offer AVL or AVL and TBR
No series books to be picked (obviously you might pick one by mistake but that's cool cos the person who's shelf you are raiding will tell you!)

Before the swap starts, all players are allocated another player's shelf to raid.
You pick 3 books from your allocated shelf as that player's reveal - the player then decides which book of the 3 is the one they will actually reveal. (normally the one they can find!)
If there is a problem with any of the books or indeed all of the books, the player has a right to veto them, but PLEASE only in extreme circs

Once the swap starts, it works exactly as normal, but the book you reveal is the one chosen from your shelf by another player.
You don't have to ask for the reveal you picked.
It's always interesting to see who picked what from who's shelf, and if they ended up with it!

Your BC shelf has to be tidy or it becomes impossible to raid it, so any books you don't want included need to be marked RES or PC.

The other thing to say about this swap is once you have signed up and the raiding partners are assigned, it really messes things up if you drop out or just disappear. So don't :wink: This is why I was a little bit reluctant to host another one. But they are such fun.

We begin the raid after the matching is done on 4th April (Friday) - you should get a PM from Cheesy at some time during Friday - and the swap itself will start on 5th April (Saturday) around 5pm GMT.

Just a note on my AVL shelf though, there are some (not too many) that were either given away or misplaced in our move that I still can't locate. If by chance my picker should choose one of those, I obviously won't be able to use it. THough there should be more then enough TBR to pick from to correct any issues. :)

Could mine be changed to TBR only. I've recently had ALOT of requests for AVL books that are showing as on my shelf, that I KNOW are no longer there.

I went and looked to see if I can figure out why and for some reason there are 2.5 pages worth of books showing as AVL that I know I marked as TBR when I passed them on over a year ago.

:wacko: I'm not sure what's going on. Did BX-ing maybe get hacked too and restored from old files. I'm totally confused on this, but am trying to get them all sorted out. I'm just not sure if I'll be able to sort them before this starts.

I thought it was just a book or two that got misplaced or mis logged from the move. :cry: Is anyone else's shelf seriously messed up, or is it just mine? :shrug:

I don't seem to have that problem on my shelf, but if you have books showing as AVL that have gone missing, maybe mark them TVL? If you find them again, you can always change them or enter a new JE, but at least that'll help keep you from going back to the same book over and over.

I know that I've ended up marking a couple of "lost" books traveling because I figure that if they're "lost" they might be "found" by someone else at some point.

I am marking them as RSVD with the JE note " This book has gone missing and is now marked as rsvd until it can be located. The hard part is having to go through my AVL shelf title by title to figure out what is there and what is not. :wacko:

It's gonna take some work, but I will get it all fixed. I'm just glad I caught it. Lord knows how long it's been that way. My :hug: to the 3 people that requested an AVL that wasn't AVL ... and apologies for the confusion as well.

I love it cos it takes the pressure off finding a great reveal - if my reveal sucks, the person who picked it probably wants it :lol: and it's far more fun picking a reveal from someone else's shelf than mine!
