terrafreaky - March 22, 2008 03:50 AM (GMT)
My girl kitty got out by accident & we haven't been able to find her. It's been 2 days.

I've contacted animal control & put an ad on petfinder. Tomorrow I will make signs for the neighborhood.

PepperVL - March 22, 2008 03:54 AM (GMT)
Oh no! I hope she comes home safely.

cheesygiraffe - March 22, 2008 05:06 AM (GMT)
Oh I hope you find her and she's alright.

catsalive - March 22, 2008 05:29 AM (GMT)
I hate it when they disappear on you. I hope she turns up, shrugs & says 'What's the problem? I'm a cat.'

Kyrissaean - March 22, 2008 06:30 AM (GMT)
:o Come back soon, Kitty!

SciFisstrs - March 22, 2008 06:55 AM (GMT)
Uh oh! Here kitty! come home.

shaunesay - March 22, 2008 02:18 PM (GMT)
oh Terra! I'm so sorry! *hughughug* I hope she comes home soon!

indygo88 - March 22, 2008 05:38 PM (GMT)
I feel for you, Terra. I'm a big cat person myself. I'd never had a cat run away & not come back...until last year. My "baby" was always dashing in & out, but always came back, until the week of Halloween. He's been gone since.
I prefer to think some nice stranger picked him up & took him home. I hope yours is just out carousing.

 We have inside cats, my only hope if one should get out is that people know enough to take them to a vet and have them scanned to see who they belong to.

redhot-brat - March 22, 2008 09:42 PM (GMT)
:pat: So sorry to hear that Terra. I hope she comes home soon.

Don't give up hope Terra. We once lost our kitty for over a week. She is a total indoor cat, never been outside and she snuck out one day. My DH found her on the next door neighbors back porch one morning a week after she had gotten out.

(((Terra)))

I agree with wss. Don't give up hope. They can disappear for a few days and still show back up on your doorstep.
Don't forget to check local shelters.
Diane

Is Kitty home yet?

terrafreaky - March 27, 2008 11:21 PM (GMT)
Funny you should ask!!! :D :D :D I just came here to dig up this thread.

Kinney is found!!!!!!!!!!!! As of 4:30 tonight!!!

I walk in the door tonight & DH is standing at the top of the stairs. He says "Someone wants to see you." .... and Kinney strolls out into the kitchen!!!

DH was on the phone in the living room. He looked out on our deck & saw her huddled in the corner. So he ran out and scooped her up.

She's very skinny, but seems reasonably healthy & clean. I think I will run her by the vet. She's got a tiny limp. Plus she was a small cat to begin with & barely weighs anything now. She's been eating and drinking off and on.

She's just as sassy as ever (she's part Siamese.) I lectured her about not going outside... and she lectured me right back about stupid humans leaving the door open.

That is such great news!!! I'm so glad you don't have to worry about her anymore!!

I haven't lost a cat (knock on wood!) but several years ago my tortoise Spike escaped from his pen in the front yard. I posted flyers all over the neighborhood and knocked on everyone's door. Three days later a man in the next neighborhood over saw him walking through his yard and showed it to his neighbor. Luckily the neighbor recognized Spike from the flyers and called us!

What a great story about Spike. Obviously I have a soft spot in my heart for turtles.

cheesygiraffe - March 28, 2008 12:30 AM (GMT)
Yay! I'm glad Kinney is found.

terrafreaky - March 28, 2008 12:45 AM (GMT)
Thank you Cheesy.

I also meant to thank everyone for their support earlier. I didn't post to this thread because I didn't have any good news, but I did read it many many times.

Kinney is now curled up in the middle of my bed in a blanket. She looks like one very sleepy Diva.

Awesome - It's so nice to hear good news! I'm glad you Kinney Kitty made it home! :bananadance:

shaunesay - March 28, 2008 02:42 AM (GMT)
:bananadance: I'm so happy for you! Many pets and ear scratches from me and my fuzzy crew!

wss4 - March 28, 2008 03:22 AM (GMT)
I am so happy that she made it home.

Our Bowlena is a Siamese as well. They do have major attitude, don't they?

Bow has been ruling our home for over 10 years now. :giggle:

k_kay - March 28, 2008 01:57 PM (GMT)
Yay, i love a happy ending :bananadance: . I would just die if Romeo got out out. He likes to try and sneak out about once a week but has never made it more than a step or two from the door. Stupid cat doesn't realize how good he has it lol.
