Title: BC-Anniversary Bonanza
Description: 50 Days until I'm 4. Woo HOO!

Gothamgal - March 19, 2008 02:52 PM (GMT)
Okay, so it's 50 days until I'm 4 in BC years. Yay!

To celebrate, I'm going to pick a few people and send them at least one, but probably more, books based on their wishlists. Probably 3 or 4, depending on how many sign up.... This part of the contest is because people have been so awesome to me.

The second part of the contest is for wings and a small prize package for YOUR next BC-anniversary. It could include party related things, books, anything really... I might be asking what you like and all.

Anyway, I'll be drawing names from random on my anniversary (in May) and then sending out ASAP. What I'd like from you is to sign up by April 30 for a chance to win.

All you have to do is make sure I've got a link to your wishlist so when I draw the names, I can check out what I have and get it to you. I have books that aren't registered, so this might motivate me to get those registered and read. And if your name is different than the site, please let me know so I can check out the bookcrossing site to find out when you're bc-anniversary is!

Anyway, good luck and thanks for letting me be a member. BO.com has been a wonderful experience, as has bookcrossing!

*************
CLOSED because I really wanted to draw some names...
The results are in, based on drawing out of a hat. The BookObsessed portion of this contest is a bit more involved than the BC one. I'm drawing a bit earlier and I'm also giving out a little more--surprisingly the wishlists of those chosen were really good for my shelves... I probably didn't get the authors names just right, sorry!
WINNERS:
BC Anniversary Winner--wss4 (you're going to be older BC wise on July 11, please send me your address and link to your 'favorites').
Three Wishlist Winners-- These people are getting some books, which is pretty awesome:
Sejent: The Vampire Armand (Anne Rice), Man of My Dreams (Curtis Sittenfeld), The Cereal Murders (Diane Mott Davidson) and The Secret Diary of Anne Boelyn.
RedHotBrat: The Crazy School, Priest of the Blood Vampiricon #1 (Douglass Clegg), Blasphemy (Douglas Preston)
CdnBlueRose: Just Murdered (Elaine Viets), A Countess Below Stairs, The Lesson of her Death
Marlene also won a special prize--the covering all bases award for posting in both forums. You'll be getting wings for your next BC-anniversary!

I will be contacting everyone soon. A couple of the books need to be read and bookcrossed. I make a po trip once a month or so now, so these will be marked to go out all together as soon as possible.

Thanks everyone for participating, and for making my BC and BO experiences so awesome!

Bookmooch Wishlist
Cliff's Wishlist

The Bookmooch wishlist probably has the books I want the most compared to the Cliff's wishlist, which is larger.

I'll turn 4 in September also, same as da Brat.

Anyway, congrats Nicole, and sure I'd like to join your contest.

My wishlist and BC links are in my siggy below, and my name is the same in both places. My Cliff's wishlist is definitely the best one to use (and the one linked up below) since I sometimes move things back and forth to Save4Later and Reminder lists on the others.

sign up by April 31 at 11:59 PM your time for a chance to win.

BO.com has been a wonderful experience, as has bookcrossing!

What fun! Happy upcoming anniversary!

I have a wishlist at Cliff's. My BC anniversary is June 14, when I'll have been here for 3 years. I agree that it's a great thing... although Mr P keeps pointing out that I probably spend more time on-line now than I do actually reading!!

GateGypsy - April 7, 2008 06:25 PM (GMT)
Wow, four? That's fantastic! I just hit 4 here at the end of March, but I'll be doing a belated give away in the summer  after I'm out of classes for summer vacation  My wishlists are linked in my signature.

There are some people that bookcrossing is good for, and some who don't quite fit. I introduced a couple of friends to it who all seemed gung-ho at the beginning but fizzled out with maybe 4 books. Oh well. I'm so glad that you're still with it, and still enjoying it! I've said it before and I'll say it again: Bookcrossing is the best thing that's ever come off the internet and into my life, for sure! Here's to four more years of enjoying and reading! (and many more besides!) cheers!

How fabulous. I am such a lousy contestant that I have not even been back to check this thread, and here I am a winner. :giggle:

Thanks so much Gothamgal!! This was such a fabulous thing for you to do.

I can not wait until I get caught up on my owed TBRs so I can start having some drawings and such. It is so exciting. :D

Thanks again for the wonderful contest and Congrats on your BC Birthday!!

wss4 - July 14, 2008 04:24 PM (GMT)
Received a wonderful package in the mail today from Gothamgal. In honor of my BC anniversary which was 7/11 and because I won her contest she sent me a wishlist book --

Nightseer by Laurell K. Hamilton

She also included a package of the cutest stick notes that are in the shape of a W! (Love them!)

Best of all-- especially in today's economy -- she sent a $20.00 gift card for GAS!!! My tank is riding on Empty at the moment so this is perfect. LOL

What a wonderful surprise and such a nice gift from a very generous person. Thanks so much Nicole.

Huge :hugz:
