Title: Yummy Yummy Bookbox Round Two
Description: Fork and Knife and Chopsticks Ready?

azuki - March 14, 2008 03:25 AM (GMT)
Welcome to the Second Round of Yummy Yummy VBB on BookObsessed! :eat:

The Rules (shamelessly copied from other vbb's):

(1) I will post a list of books and the order of the box participants by the 18th of every other month (January, March, May...).

(2) Each person may take as many books out of the box as they want; however, you must put in the same number of books (or more). This means that you may be responsible for shipping the number of books that you have put in. You control how many books you are willing to ship by only taking out/putting in that number of books.

(3) You have six months to mail your books that were selected by other participatns. Otherwise, you are obviously too busy to read and should not be adding more TBRs to your shelf. You will still be responsible for replacing books that are due for replacing.

(4) You can opt to skip your turn by not taking any books out of the box and passing the turn on to the next person.

(5) Book from any genre, except children's book (teens are okay) are welcome in this box, if they belong to any of the following:
a. Fiction or non fiction with food words in the title. eg. Like Water for Chocolate; Eat, Pray, Love; The Olive Season, ...
b. Fiction with a plot around food or restaurant. eg. Promegranate Soup, Last Day at Lobster, Chocolat and all those food murders.
c. Non fiction about food. eg. books written by Ruth Reichl or Anthony Bourdain, micro history of a food item, etc.

What are NOT welcome:
a. Textbook or manual type of books. eg. How to run a restaurant business,
home brewery guide.
b. Wine or Restuarant guide eg. NY restaurant guide
c. Cookbooks, diet books.

(6) You have 48 hours from the time the person before you posts their move in the thread to make your move. However, if this is a problem (eg. No computer access, travel, illness, busy work…) just let us know and we can move you down a few slots. Otherwise, you may be moved to the end of the list. If you don't show up at all for a round, you will be removed from the list. However, you are welcome to rejoin at any time.

(7) New participants are welcome and can join at any time! They will be added to the end of the list until the next shuffling.

(8) Any book that has been in the box for two rounds need to be replaced at the player's turn, before new titles can be selected.

(9) If you wish to drop out of the box, you will still be responsible for shipping the books that you put into the box, either by mailing to whoever chooses them, or to the organizer of the box.

(10) The list of participants will be randomized at the start of every fourth round.

(11) Once you've taken your turn, kindly PM the next person to let them know it's their turn. If you can't, please say so when you post your move, so someone else can pm for you.

Now on to the fun part!!

I've got a bunch to add this round :P

azuki - March 21, 2008 03:44 AM (GMT)
Thanks for getting the ball rolling again.
I didn't bump RebeccalJames last night because I figure since we are supposed to officially start on the 18th, she may not be ready so soon, so I give her a bit extra time. Also I sent her another pm yesterday just in case. But indeed by now it's time to move on.

Can the next person updating add FamFatale to the end of the list please? Thanks.

BunnyLady - March 21, 2008 07:29 PM (GMT)
I've got a ways to go so I probably won't check back in til Monday. Everyone have a happy Easter.

Did I do it right this time??

Oi-reader, I'm not sure what you did with your update, but most of the links are missing..... I intended to do another update, but I stupidly edited my last update, so things look a bit wonky as it now shows oi-reader's move posted before she made it ...... sorry.... I did copy and paste it again though so the most recent update I did is correct and I'll pm geishabird too. I need more caffeine.....

Thanks.

Rebeccaljames posted over in a swap thread that she was just replacing in VBBs and then going to drop out. But since this is a fairly new VBB I am not sure if that applies here.

 No, and I appear to be wrecking havoc across the forum, so I should sit on my hands so I can't type anymore!!!

I'm sorry I made everyone wait. I will skip this time. And yes wendy is right I will stay in until all my books are taken out and then I will be dropping out of the book box. I am just really busy with school and I need to get caught up with my owed tbr's.

CdnBlueRose - March 22, 2008 05:55 PM (GMT)
I edited the last update to show that rebeccaljames is skipping this round....

Oi-reader, I wonder if you may have just use your copy and paste function by highlighting the text and then copy or Ctrl C? If that's the case the links will be missing.

If you use the Quote feature then all the links should be there. You will go to the box under "Original Post to Quote", then copy and paste it to the bigger box on top that says "Enter Your Post", and make your modifications from there.
It really isn't easy. Especially the way the codes are displayed, it's really hard to view the text.

Service is really slow here... or are people just not hungry or on a diet???

I sent oi-reader the link for the Fake VBB where she can practice updates without affecting real data and will have no worries about messing anything up, she can just play around until she has it all figured out. :)

 I'll get it right next round! I'm off to practice :D
