Title: Need cleaning advice!

CdnBlueRose - January 23, 2007 10:20 PM (GMT)
I spilled some hand lotion on the carpet and it's left a bad mark - can anyone recommend anything that will clean this? :(

Sorry Rosie I am clueless about such things.

All of I can think of is dishwashing detergent, since it's made to cut grease, but that might fade the carpet. :(

If you put a piece of brown bag, the thin kind that lunch comes in, over the stain and carefully iron it with a not too hot iron, you might be able to get the stain up. My ex-mother-in-law used to do that to get greasy footprints from her son's boots off her lovely carpet, or so I've been told :)

LMAO Giz

Toothpaste? No wait that's for marker on furniture. I can't remember what's good for stains on the floor. I do know what you do if you have a pot or pan that has baked on grease . You fill up the pot or pan with warm water and put in a fabric softner sheet and let it set a couple hours or overnight. Then just wipe off. ;)

Just for future reference, the enzymatic pet cleaners (like Simple Solutions and Nature's Miracle) seem to work really well for pretty much any stains. :) I've used them for ketchup, chocolate, and blood on clothes (I'm a messy eater AND a clutz   ).

Rosie... now that the crisis is over, can I ask WHAT you were doing with hand lotion?

Just thought maybe you were re-reading our swap from last night.
