Title: OMG!!! SNOW!!!!!
Description: ok.. so I'm just a little happy about it

needmorezoloft - March 4, 2008 04:14 AM (GMT)
For those of you who may not know. I live in Texas... and once in a blue moon ... wait strike that.. blue moons are twice a year, this is even more rare... it is SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you guys know what i wanted for my birthday a few months back... snow... and what is it doing now... snowing... :yahoo:

I even woke my daughter up, wrapped her up in a blanket and took her out the front door to see her FIRST SNOW FALL!!! She was pretty much out, but I made sure she opened her eyes and saw the snow and made her give me the.. "Do you see the white stuff on the grass.." Jordan's response..groggyish ugh noise "that's snow honey".. then I put her back in bed.

I'm even going to get a baggie, and label it Jordan's first snow, and put a snow ball in it.

I'm so happy (as if you couldn't tell) SNOW!!!!! :bananadance:

Tomorrow... PICS!

You're so cute Lei! :giggle: My boys get excited when it snows here because it's just a little bitty bit once a year. I've promised to take them to Kansas in the winter sometime to see it snow more.

EllyMae58 - March 4, 2008 04:22 AM (GMT)
I've never seen snow..I'd probably do the same thing!

LOL - I can so picture this. Even though I live in a state where by this time of year I'm sick to death of the stuff, I have seen someone's excitement at seeing it for the first time.

When I was about 14 .... I was staying the weekend at my best friend's house (lived near Chicago at the time) and her Aunt, Uncle, and their kids had just moved to Illinois. Her uncle was retiring from the Navy. His kids had been born and raised in Hawaii and had never seen snow.

Anyhow .... Pam (my Best Friend) and I were sitting watching tv when her cousins Eric and Erin came running in the house yelling " there's white stuff falling outside, is it snow?". It was hilarious to us, as they were 9 and 10, and had no clue what it was. I've never seen anyone sooooo excited about snow.

Until now :giggle: Thanks for the humorous memory Lei and enjoy your snow while it lasts. Hope it's still there in the morning when Jordan is awake enough to appreciate it. :D

Yay! Jordan's first snowfall! :D

And here I was just grumping that it's supposed to snow, sleet, and freezing rain, pretty much all at the same time, all week long. Bleck! We've had so much heavy snow and icefall this year that there have been a record number of roof collapses in the area -- the news programs are all doing bits on how to recognize if your roof is about to cave in. Maybe we sent some of our overflow weather to Texas!

SciFisstrs - March 4, 2008 06:19 AM (GMT)
Awe I'm glad that you got your wish, especially for your daughter :D

My sister lived in Texas for a number of years. And she told me it did snow there. She was used to snow and saw it before, being from the East Coast. She told me her neighbors didn't know what to do to get the snow and ice (yes there was ice) off of their cars. So they plugged in hair dryers with extension cords to melt that ice  What a scene. I would've like to see that

Heh, and I'd just said this morning, since Mike had to go to the west coast till Thursday, that if it dares even thinks of more snow, I'm going to cry and hole up in my little hidey hole! I just wish it'd all be done already. Hate, hate, hate the stuff and will be happy to never ever see it again once I move unless I specially go hunting it down in the mountains or something.

Your story did bring to mind my nieces' first snowfall. Deb and the girls were spending the holiday here in Boston and the girls were so excited, made a snowman and all... and watching them so enjoy the snow just brought tears (of happiness) to my eyes! :) I can imagine your joy was in the same caliber, sans Mr. Snowman. :giggle:

I couldn't find my camera this morning.. so I used my cell phone... but when I got out and pulled my leather jacket from the car, found my camera.. so at lunch I'm gonna take some pretty ones...

I'm ready for winter to end, in fact I'll take anything above freezing, I'm not picky. I just want to get up toss on a pair of sweats, something with a sleeve, pop on my flip flops and drop my daughter off at school by 6:45.

We had sticky snow over night , so I did a quick swipe of the windows while warming up the car. While I was out there (I blame it on winter insanity) I made 3 mini snowmen on the hood of my car. My daughter and I made bets which one would commit suicide first.

Amazingly enough, both my girls seem fairly well adjusted even though I'm their mother.

 Your so funny but I understand.

How much did you get? We got 10 inches and it's gorgeous. The dogs are having a great time.

We are expecting about 10 to 12 inches of snow over night until tomorrow afternoon. This year has been a heavy snow fall. (the only year to get more was 1970!)

I REALLY like your mini-snowman idea, made me laugh a lot, and I think that I'm going to do that tomorrow!

Maybe an inch here today. I was out tapping with homeschoolers in the snow today. It was COLD and some of the trees had 1/2 buckets of frozen sap hanging on them. My little brothers were born in FLA and I remember their firs snowfall. They must have liked it. One lives in North Dakota, snow central.

I just love the snow. Always have. Except for not being able to ride my bike in it, I wouldn't care if it snowed every day.

Love the pictures Danes!

I liked the snow a lot more before I bought a house and started shoveling my own walks. Now I've decided moving to a place that gets over four feet of the stuff every winter was perhaps not the greatest decision I ever made.

Love the pics Danes and NMZ :)

We have heavy rains and strong winds tonight and tomorrow :(

Oh, that's so funny - I can picture it now. It's pouring buckets here and no snow left - I wonder if we'll get more snow and if I'll remember to do this myself when we do.
