I was making jugs of iced tea all day yesterday. I have yet to figure out how exactly to make a jug of iced tea out of the loose tea I received in January, but I'm sure I'll figure it out
penelopewanders, you sent me that sweet chili tea, so it is safe to say you've tried it before? Is it the type of tea to drink sweetened? Do you think it would translate into a reasonable iced tea, or would I be better off to make it hot?
ETA: managed to make a jug of French Vanilla Vietnamese Black Iced Tea. Yum! Now to find out where I can get more! Is it available to order online?

I actually never add sweetener to tea, just milk, so I really couldn't say... I've always had it hot, but assume it would be nice cold...
Let me know what you think after you try it!

Actually I'm out of town next week until the end of the month, so count me out this month!

if you have a teavana store near you (I'm not sure if they have Canadian shops), or a tea type store you can sometimes get paper filters for making cups/jugs of iced tea...
I've got a really big mesh ball I use for my loose teas when making iced tea.

I don't know how to make ice tea with the flavored tea bags. I've always use the quart size Luzianne tea bags to make ice tea.

For one of those ice tea jars (holds a little over a half gallon of liquid) I use 4 normal black lipton bags, plus 4-5 of the flavored bags (usually a peach/ginger or rasberry as those are well liked flavors here). Steep in hot to boiling water 10 min (so it's strong) with the jar filled 3/4ths full, add sweetener, and then fill the remaining empty jar with ice.
I basically played around with that until I got to where I consistantly got tea that was good. It sometimes meant weaker or too strong a tea, but iced tea is very forgiving.
I find that if I use not quite boiling water it's better to let the tea sit on the counter and steep longer. You want to make it strong, as the ice dilutes it as it melts.
I've also made green teas with the same amounts 8-10 bags per container, but I like my green teas hot most of the time so that's a sometimes treat. I also do the half & half method of tea, as just the flavored teas was getting a bit strong at times.
So experiment! Throw a flavored bag or two in with your Luzianne bags :)

That's almost blasphemous Cheesy!
Don't worry... I won't blame you for losing my mind, which I nearly am, but I am counting down the days until my week long Disney World vacation with my kids, hope to regain my sanity soon!
