Friday, January 26!

It's the announcement you've been waiting for! Oprah's Book Club is back! Set your TiVos and VCRs for Friday, January 26. Oprah will announce her next selection during the show!

Should I be excited? A lot of her old book club selections were mushy then she jumped to classic literature. I'm kind of scared of what she's going to pick next. Especially after The Million Pieces fiasco. :P

I'm interested in what she's going to put up!

Thanks for letting us know.

I'm very interested! I think it is great how she has inspired millions to actually read a book!

Her new book is...

The Measure of a Man by Sidney Poitier! I just got an email from Borders about it. Not sure this is a book I will though. What about the rest of you?

I have to admit I'm a little disappointed with her choice.
Each book she's selected I've had at least some interest in reading it. This one doesn't interest me at all. She's touting Portier every chance she gets and I don't really feel like reading his biography. She chose the safe route.

I'd have to agree with Lauren, she chose the safe route. I'll probably skip this one. I'm just not that interested in Sidney Portier.

My Mt. TBR is already towering so I doubt I'll add this one to my list. I think Portier is a fascinating person, but I agree that she's playing it safe. I can't say I blame her though after what happened with A Million Little Pieces.
