Thursday I attended an event at my library called "You Read It, You Swap It." Everyone brought books to give away and the library put out some of what they had in storage from donations. We got 1 credit for each book. You could take home the same number of books based on your credits. I took 26 of my AVLs (all labeled, of course) that have been sitting around for awhile and weren't wish list books for any BCer. I ended up bringing home 5 what appear to be excellent reads. Reminded me a lot of all the trades, swaps, VBBs & general book exchanging we do around here and on the BC site.
It was really fun! Most of the crowd was a bit older, but there was still a wide variety to choose from. One lady was like a book vulture and snatched up all of the popular titles as soon as we were given the okay to start choosing. I'm sure she needed more books in her house much, much worse than I do. :D
 yes, perhaps! After all, if she was so desperate to snipe the "good reads" she can't possibly have as wonderful a resource as the very generous and fun-loving BCers that haunt this forum!
That does sound like fun, though. I wonder if I could talk my local library into something as adventurous as that?
